Last week
we reported that the playable Xbox 360 at E3 was really running on two Apple G5's. Now, we hear from
1up.com and NVIDIA's CFO Marv Burkett that the PS3's RSX chip, the PS3's GPU, is still in development and couldn't have been in the PS3 during E3 demonstrations. So what was powering the PS3 at E3? Well, Burkett says that it was actually running on an "NVIDIA high-end desktop product in SLI mode." For gosh sakes, can anybody be honest anymore!?!
