Hideo Kojima, creator of the
Metal Gear Solid series and esteemed video game guru recently gave an interview to
Boomtown where he discusses
MGS4 for the PS3 and goes on to discuss his impressions of the next gen consoles. He likens the three consoles to dinners. The PS3 is the type of dinner you have once or twice a year, on special occasions. The Xbox 360 is a little more casual and perhaps a dinner you eat two or three times a month. The Nintendo Revolution is a like a good meal you have at home every night. What he's trying to say is that Sony's PS3 expectations are so high, and the cost of development for the games will be so outrageous that only a few publishers will be able to tackle the challenge while the Xbox 360 and Revolution will be more accessible. You can read the interview
here. The extended dinner metaphor is at the bottom.
