According to CNN Money
, EA has pushed back the release of the highly anticipated The Godfather
to the first quarter of 2006. The move sent shares of EA down nearly 3.86% or $2.33, with some time left in today's trading. My feeling on this is don't release the game unless it's perfect. EA knows that this game is getting a ton of attention and if they release a crap game, well, then they'll be lambasted for it. Games with so much riding on them need to be error-free. What is funny is that Wall Street has reacted so negatively to the news. EA isn't a Take-Two, with only a few good franchises. Even if The Godfather
came out this Fall and tanked, it wouldn't affect EA too much.
