Various sources, including
Gamespot, are today reporting the announcement by Sony of
p-tv.jp, Sony's portable TV service for the PSP, only available in Japan via the Sony-owned ISP, So-net. The service will initially offer about 100 free selections including movie trailers, independent films, and TV pilots. Also, there will be a premium, or paid, service which will offer TV shows and feature length movies. This is an interesting move by Sony and may be the testing ground for a future US release of a similar service. I'm sure Sony is keeping an eye on
Apple's plans to make an iPod Video, which would play movies, TV, music videos, etc. So many cool gadgets, so little time.
