Yesterday, we reported
on Piper Jaffray analyst, Anthony Gikas, and his predictions regarding the initial shipment of Xbox 360 and the price point. Today, in an article
at GameDailyBiz, Anthony Gikas goes further explaining his belief that there will be two separate SKUs at launch, a $300 version and a $400 version. He expects, out of the initial shipment, that 80% will be the $400 version as that is the version that most early adopters will prefer (extra controller, bigger HDD, etc.). He also reveals that Microsoft's goal is to have 50% of consoles online via Xbox LIVE and that MS has a huge stash of money to help subsidize development costs for third party developers. This all leads to his conclusion that, "They're coming at Sony at 110 miles per hour." Only time will tell if that strategy will pay off.
