Activision's
GUN, an Old West adventure game made by Neversoft, of
Tony Hawk fame, is now in stores. There have been relatively few games in the Western genre, however, the suprise hit that was
Red Dead Revolver and the mediocre success of Vampire Western,
Darkwatch, bodes well for
GUN. Add in some voice acting from Tom Skerrit, Kris Kristofferson, Thomas Jane, Lance Henriksen, and Ron Perlman and you have a hootenanny of raspy crotchety men, perfect to pull you into the late-1800s setting. The game's story was written by veteran Hollywood screenwriter, Randall Jahnson, who worked on
Mask of Zorro and
The Doors. Obviously, Activision has a lot at stake with this game. Look for it as a launch game for the Xbox 360, too.
