is reporting that Federal Judge George Caram Steeh has granted a request by the Entertainment Software Association, the Video Software Dealers Association and the Michigan Retailers Association for a preliminary injunction preventing the state from enforcing its new violent-video game law, which was supposed to go into effect on December 1st. In the ruling Judge Steeh states, "(Michigan) has been unable to demonstrate the perceived harm it seeks to protect against". He continues to say, "Plaintiffs have demonstrated that the Act is unlikely to survive strict scrutiny, and that irreparable harm follows from the loss of First Amendment freedoms."
