Here at Lunabean.com, we're pleased to say we secured a Core system at Best Buy, after Jer stood in line from 5am to 9am. I stood in line at Sears with no such luck. After waiting for an hour and a half in the freezing cold, with wind whipping all around and smokers in every direction (seriously, the 14 year old and I were the only two not smoking at 5am), we were sent home at 6:30 because the shipment had yet to arrive.
From there I drove all around Portland. I went to Costcos, Targets, Fred Meyers, Sears, Frye's, Circuit Citys, Comp USAs, KMarts and countless other stores, only to face rejection time and time again. People would yell at me as I approached that "All Xboxes are spoken for". Other stores had signs plastered to the front door stating, "We don't have any X-BOXES". I found, too, that retailers became progressively ruder as my search went on (which reminds me, I will never be shopping at the Sam Goody in Washington Square Mall again), as though it was my fault EB couldn't fulfill my reservation made back in June. So, when Jer called to say he had an Xbox 360 in his hands (albeit a Core system), I couldn't have been more pleased.
Work will soon begin on Xbox 360 walkthroughs. However, for today, in our complete exhaustion and total loopiness, we're going to acquaint ourselves with the newest addition to our Lunabean family. I think we'll call her "Lucy".
