Today we have confirmed what was reported as rumor last week, and that's that Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, has been stockpiling Xbox 360s for its first ad of 2006. The confirmation came in today's newspaper (which, I guess, makes it the last ad of 2005), in which we discovered a rare Saturday Wal-Mart circular with a bright and shiny Xbox 360 on the front page. A phone call to our nearest Wal-Mart confirmed the consoles are in stock, but won't go on sale until tomorrow.
Are you willing to give up your New Year's Eve to camp out for an Xbox 360? Probably not, which is why I have the feeling many people will be able to walk into their local Wal-Marts tomorrow morning and walk out with a new best friend. What a way to start off the new year.
