Nintendo's free online service for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo WiFi, is getting up to 260,000 users per day, and has tallied 1 million unique visitors since its launch last November, according to
RevoGaming.net. The service works with WiFi enabled Nintendo DS games like
Metroid Prime: Hunters,
Mario Kart DS, and
Animal Crossing: Wild World. In only 4 months they're getting Xbox Live-type numbers. When the WiFi enabled Revolution launches, I'd bet that it will connect to the same network. If Sony and Microsoft are charging for their online service and Nintendo isn't, guess who will win that war? Exciting times indeed.
