Next, a May 11th Gamespot article reported that Gearbox Studios (developer of the Brothers in Arms games, along with the PC port of Halo) is on board with Regency and Titan to create the game, which will be a prequel or a sequel to the film. According to Gamespot, Michael Mann, the film's director, is in talks with Gearbox to oversee the game's development. Also, Titan Productions claims to be in "advanced stages with representatives for Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Val Kilmer to be part of the video game sequel." Interesting, since Pacino denied EA any rights to his part in "The Godfather: The Game".
If this does all pan out, we are told to see the game for next gen consoles in 2007...which, in video game world, means 2008.
