Some lawmakers in Venezuela are not happy with the scenario to be played out in the upcoming game,
Mercenaries 2. That scenario? An invasion of Venezuela after an evil tyrant seizes control of its oil supply. It seems some lawmakers have gone a little overboard, though, linking the game to a US gov't campaign of pychological warfare. Congressman Ismael Garcia says, "I think the U.S. government knows how to prepare campaigns of psychological terror so they can make things happen later." Um, no. The game's developer, Pandemic (
Destroy all Humans), is known for being edgy and sarcastic. That's what makes them a great developer.

In the original Mercenaries, you play as one of three Mercs who take on jobs for China, South Korea, the Russian Mafia, and the Allies. There are no affiliations, thus your status as a Mercenary, earning money from contracts. It was a great game, although in my opinion, it got a little old (I know Lizking disagrees with me there).
Obviously, we have our own paranoid nuts in the US Congress. It's my opinion that the few Venezuelan lawmakers who are speaking up about this game are comparable.
Did you know gas in Caracas is $0.12/gallon? Maybe we should invade ;).
