Joystiq today has an entry which discusses a lack of new summer games. This is no surprise as each and every summer the gaming world experiences such a drought. However, I have to disagree with Joystiq's grim findings that there is nothing worthwhile to play. First of all, there is today's release of Hitman Blood Money. This is going to be a huge game. Next, there is the release of GTA: Liberty City Stories for the PS2 on June 6. Those two releases alone would make for a comparitvely good summer. But, it gets better. On June 11, there is the launch of the Nintendo DS Lite.

The lighter, brighter DS has a plethora of games to go along with it, including the recent release of New Super Mario Bros. and other releases such as Brain Age and Star Fox Command. Those sound perfect for vacation gaming.

But back to the consoles. Whether or not anybody else is excited for it, I'm looking forward to Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow. Then, there's Xbox Live and all of its arcade games and LOTR: The Battle for Middle Earth II for the Xbox 360. And, don't forget the controversial Rockstar title, Bully, the X360 game, Prey, and TimeShift.

With all of these games, plus all of those games that you never got around to playing, I'd imagine that you'll have no shortage of entertainment.
