While I really don't understand "Second Life" (see
Chris Pirillo's "Second Life" blog entry and apply it to me), I do love reading about those who do understand such "games", and use them to their advantage. Enter Duran Duran.
BBC News is reporting that the band has purchased a virtual island in the game, which will be used for live performances for all in "Second Life" to enjoy. The idea came from BBC Radio 1, which rented an island earlier in the year to host music festivals. These festivals present live music, as played in the real world, to the vast audience of the virtual world.
3-D avatars for each of Duran Duran's members have been created, but have yet to be revealed. No official concert dates have been given.
