Because you can never play too many WWII based first-person-shooters, Codemasters has today announced "Fall of Liberty" (working title) for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Along with the game announcement came the news that Codemasters would be working with Spark Unlimited, the developer that gave us another WWII shooter, "Call of Duty: Finest Hour", to bring us this new title in Q4 2007.
There is a twist in this game which should keep the genre fresh, and that's that it is to be based upon an alternate history. According to
Gamespot the game kills off British Prime Minister Winston Churchill three years before WWII begins. Without this man's superb leadership, the Nazis occupy Great Britain, which, in turn, gives them the reach and power necessary to move across the Atlantic, invade the U.S., and occupy Washington DC. In other words, lack of good leadership meant we failed at fighting them over there, so we were forced to fight them over here.
