The internet is abuzz today with a newly unearthed interview with Ron Bertram
, vice-president and general manager of Nintendo of Canada, who told Vancouver-based Mackenzie Investments on September 14th that Nintendo expects there to be 1 million Wiis available for the North American launch.
Nintendo has previously stated that they expect to have 4 million units available by the end of the year. Sony, on the other hand, expects to have 400,000 units available on launch, with 2 million by the end of the year.

Perhaps it's a ploy by Nintendo to keep its Wii in the middle of the media buzz as Christmas approaches...after all, that's clearly why they stuck the release date so close to the PS3's.
Anyway, I'm even more anxious to pre-order mine. Come on Game Crazy...come on!
