Every once in a while a beautiful and intriguing video game comes along. The one that pops into everybody's head is '
Shadow of the Colossus' and its older brother, 'Ico'. Add
Limbo' to that list. Created by Danish game artist and designer Arnt Jensen, the game seems to be a cold and mechanical, black and white, 2D platformer consisting of some amazing scenery. Jensen has done work on '
Hitman Contracts' and 'Freedom Fighters'.
Obviously, he knows what he's doing. The game has yet to be picked up by any major studio, which leads me to surmise that this would be a perfect fit for download via Xbox Live or on the Nintendo Wii.

It really is quite pretty...and good call on the "Ico".

Yeah, I couldn't think of any other "pretty" games, although Limbo reminds me of Viewtiful Joe, which was a nicely detailed 2D side-scroller. I think there is a lot of room in the video game world for games like this.
Oh, remember Escape, for the PSP. We never played it, but it was a 2D side scroller that I was interested in playing.
