The net is abuzz today with news that Gamestop stores (Gamestop, EB, Software Etc., Babbages) will begin taking Nintendo Wii pre-orders this Friday. This falls in line with our local Gamestop manager told us as we were pre-ordering our PS3 yesterday. He said, "expect short notice, and expect it to happen on Thursday or Friday".

While our PS3 pre-order experience was relatively painless, we're expecting to work much harder (and earlier) to secure a Wii. Despite the fact that many more will be available, it's pretty clear that the console is in greater demand. Also, people were blindsided by the short notice on the PS3 pre-order, which means they're on super high alert for the Wii pre-order. Oh, and it's Friday. Do people even go to work on Friday anymore?
