I'll openly admit it now: I've never played 'World of Warcraft'. It's not that I'm not attracted to the world of Massively-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Gaming. It's the fact that I'm too attracted to it, and I have an extremely addictive personality. You would see the story of my 'WoW' addiction appear on 'Dateline NBC'. Granted, it wouldn't be nearly as popular as their "To Catch a Predator" series, but it would get high ratings. "Can you believe she forgot to feed her cats?" Ann Curry would ask, while shaking her head in disgust. Stone Phillips would provide the help number for people who fear, they, too, are addicted, and don't want to end up like me. "Please, get help now," he'd beg.
OK...so it might not go that far, but I can sympathize with
this guy, who found the game at the wrong time in his life, and let it consume him. His writing isn't sensationalized, it's just a very realistic story of how easy it is to lose yourself in the 'World of Warcraft'.
