Toys 'R' Us Wii and PS3 pre-orders, the aftermath

We ventured out at about 8am yesterday to our local Toys 'R' Us (near Washington Square Mall, Portland, Ore.) to see the activity. Sure enough, there were about 50 people in line, many of whom appeared to have slept overnight.


Judging from various reports, it seems each Toys 'R' Us had about 6 to 8 PS3s and 15 to 20 Wiis. From what we saw, there were some disappointed people in that line when the doors opened.

Three other things to think about: 1) The time change occured overnight, meaning the campers had to wait an extra hour. 2) It was cold, especially in the NE. Here in the great NW, it was about 43 degrees and rainy. Not fun. 3) It was also the first day you could get the new Elmo at Toys 'R' Us. Some of those waiting, were there for Elmo.
