It's nice to see the mainstream media write a decent video game story. In this case, ABC News tackles the issue of PS3 shortages, whether demand is truly outstripping supply, and asking the question, "who is the winner?"

The article alludes to a lot of anecdotal evidence of people seeing PS3s in stores. I'd venture to bet that a big chunk of those consoles are from returns, that is, people who bought the PS3 to sell it on eBay and then couldn't get more than what they paid for it. I think that is a very under-reported and significant number of PS3 sales.
