

Wow, wow, wowee, wow! Anecdotal evidence, both here and in Japan suggests that PS3s are sitting on store shelves while retailers can't keep in stock the Wii. Of course, all analysts temper the tepid PS3 sales by saying that it'll catch up...it's made for the long haul. Whatever. They're saying that only to make themselves look better because they thought it'd be a hit.
All of this sales data that is starting to trickle in is bad news for Sony. They needed the PS3 to be a hit, not just a good seller. It's not a hit. It could be in a year or two when some great games come out and the price drops, but it really doesn't matter because by that time, it'll be considered an extra console as most people, especially in the US, will prefer the Wii and Xbox 360.

How is the Wii so popular when all it is is basically a repackaged Gamecube?
