Staying true to form, Sony is releasing a firmware update to Japan's PS3s today which does little to address actual complaints about the console, but, instead, focuses on an easier way for them to access your wallet.
Firmware update 1.5 will allow Japanese gamers to hook up a PaSoRi reader to their consoles via a USB port. The reader is set up to read
EDY money cards or Sony's proprietary
FeliCa card, which can serve as both ID and electronic wallet.
No word as to when this high tech money suckage device will come to the US, but, you can bet it will.
