We all know that the Wii has the Virtual Console (VC) where you can download classic Nintendo, Sega, and TurboGrafx-16, however we've all been wondering if the Wii will have a download channel for new games, like the Xbox Live Marketplace. Today, we get a hint of this service in an article from
1Up in which Hudson Entertainment's Director of Marketing alludes to such a channel.
This wouldn't come as much of a surprise as it was always assumed that Nintendo would have a place where amateur and professional designers alike could offer their wares. I'd imagine it would also serve as a place to download new Nintendo games, like Wii Play (which is coming out soon only bundled with a Wii Remote). If any more solid info comes out on this, we'll let you know.
