Nancy Drew coming to DS

This past summer I played my first 'Nancy Drew' video game, Nancy Drew: Danger by Design for the PC. I picked it up because a) it kept appearing high on sales charts and b) because I grew up on Nancy Drew, and, if she's part of my video game world, I should, at least, check in on her. What I found was surprizing.

Nancy Drew Danger by Design was one of the hardest puzzle games I've ever played. That's not to say the gameplay was hard. After all, it's a "point and click" game. I'm purely talking about the puzzles. So, what you have is a game that's easy to pick up, but quite challenging once you're into it. This made it the perfect game for those who might not be comfortable with "video games".

As I played through the PC game, I kept thinking about how perfect such a title would fit on a Nintendo DS, particularly because the Nancy Drew title was trying to do with games what Nintendo has been trying to do to gaming machines, and that's make people who don't play video games play video games. So, it came as little more than a pleasant surprise to receive a press release from Majesco today stating the company is publishing its first Nancy Drew title for the Nintendo DS, Nancy Drew and The Secret of the Olde World Park. I predict high sales for this one.

Expect to see this new Nancy Drew title on store shelves later this year. In the meantime, checkout our Danger by Design walkthrough here:
