I find it pretty odd timing. Does he know that things aren't going well (or won't go well) and he doesn't want to be around when the shite hits the fan? Did he get forced out because Sony didn't think he was doing a good job and wanted to replace him as quickly as possible to save the UK launch?
Obviously, only a few people know, but is this somehow linked to the larger shake up that happened last November?
On November 30 of 2006, Jack Tretton (not a fan of this arrogant twerp) was named CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), aka, Playstation USA. In the same shake up, Kaz Hirai (another arrogant twerp), former head of SCEA was promoted to President of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE), aka, Playstation everything, everywhere. Former head of SCE, Ken Kutargi, remained as CEO of SCE, but stepped back from his President role.
The timing of that shake up was also weird; just two weeks after the launch of the PS3.
What gives at Sony corporate? Are there no more free snacks due to cost cutting?
