While the press got its hands on the
Halo 3 beta last week, gamers who purchased
Crackdown and, therefore, the
Halo 3 beta ticket that came with it, were supposed to gain access to the beta today. Sadly, this has not been the case.
According to
Gamespot, reports of numerous beta problems forced Bungie to pull the game offline. Both
Bungie and
Major Nelson acknowledge this and promise to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.
Interestingly enough,
Major Nelson has received such high traffic from this
Crackdown debacle that his site is in "high load" mode. What's more, those at Bungie who may be wondering how upset gamers are by this little upset need not look any further than the
Bungie forums. Eegad.
