Ubisoft this week held a two day promotional event featuring game trailers, previews, and news. Held in Paris, this Ubi bacchanalia was known as Ubidays.
Here, I offer you my take on games previewed at Ubidays. I've included on the games that I care about and they're listed in the order that I most liked the video.
Haze - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Finally, a game for the PS3 that I want, and want bad! It's being developed by Free Radical (TimeSplitters and the group who broke off from Rare after developing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark), land it ooks amazing.
It's been a long time since a game's graphics have wowed me, but this did it for me. It also is representative of the Ubi motif for many of their upcoming games: a post-apocalyptic world in the strain of Children of Men. I'm so in.
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 - Wii
This Transformers spoof trailer had me laughing like a bunny hopped up on meth-laced carrot juice. Just sit back and enjoy. Are there spiders crawling on my skin!?!
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
My favorite WWII series. Nothing crazy here, just better graphics. I'm very excited for this game as I truly enjoy the ability to control my little group of men (no, not those men, wait, what does that mean? Shh...inner thoughts...Shh). Just watch the video.
Splinter Cell Conviciton - Xbox 360, PC
Where's my Sam Fisher? Where's they guy in the super suit with the glowing PDA on his back and the night vision triangle on his forehead? Hmm? Where's my silenced pistol and sticky shockers? Hmm? Ubi, I'm talking to you here, get me my Sam back, original Splinter Cell style. Still, it does look cool. I'm so easy.
Assassin's Creed - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Allison wrote about this trailer the other day, but I've included it here again just to be thorough. Also, after it, is an interview with game producer, Jade Raymond (I wonder if that's who they modeled Jade after in Beyond Good and Evil?).
Tom Clancy's End War - PS3, Xbox 360
Here's another post-apocalyptic setting. And, there is news that this RTS game will be able to be played using on voice commands. I also feel tied to it because I enjoyed figuring out the viral marketing secret website. If only we could control the battlefield like they do in the trailer. Then you'd have me.
