We've known about it for a while, but today we have confirmation that Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PS3, X360, PC) is in development at Infinity Ward, the developer of the first two Call of Duties.
For the first time in the series, the game will not be a WWII shooter but will instead focus on, well, modern warfare. The setting is an unnamed Middle Eastern country where a warlord dictator is raising havoc.
You'll play as a number of different special forces units in a variety of circumstances: sniper, gunship, stealth, etc. We expect the game to launch Holiday '07. If you haven't seen the trailer, here you go.
