There's have you looked on level 4? There's a staircase and to the right is a little ledge thingy. There is one there. The other places that I can think of is one as you're going up the staircase to Defence against the Dark arts, one along the way to the viaduct entrance from the viaduct. And the rest are pretty easy to find.

I know this is not a proper question on the game, but is it worth buying? I'm not exactly a huge Potter fan, and I haven't read all the books / watched all the films. Still, I have enjoyed reading the first 3 books and watching three of the films. With that being said, is it worth putting out the cash for this game, while I'm not a die-hard fan? On another note; how long would it take the average person to complete the whole game? Thanks.

For questions about getting through the game, they are all answered in the guide, which is linked to in this article.

To Adam, I would say those who are not huge Harry Potter fans won't be big fans of this game. I love Harry Potter, which is why I was able to forgive the game's many flaws. Those who reviewed the game based solely on the game's merits gave it scores between 5 and 7...pretty bad.

What I enjoyed most about the game was the EA obtained Warner Bros. Hogwarts blueprints...so, you really got to run through the school that we've all come to know in the movies...which makes watching the movies all sorts of fun, as you know exactly where everyone is.

For the general story, I'd say you could finish it in 12-15 hours. If you're going for the extras (and you should, as they're quite fun to collect) tack on another 10 hours.

i got the slytherin password by wearing the invisibility cloak and going in teh dungens and listening to slytherins cnversation. i dont know if it will be the same for you though cuz i am on psp

hey i just finished the game and i can help anyone with any questions.
like where luna's belinging are?

1. entrance courtyard. use wingardium leviosa on the broom and sweep up the leaves on the right side of the courtyard.
2. great hall table
3. library table
4. validuct entrance (right next to the stuttering portrait and the bookshelf)
5. clocktower courtyard right by the big statue in the middle.
and thats everything

oh and p.s.
for the kid that said they were Harry Potter's #1 fan?

i am on psp and i am trying to get the monster book of monsters for zach. smith and it was on top of the bookshelf so i levitated a table and bookshelf to get it and climbed up. then it flew away and went uner a bench and i can only get it out from under by levitating a pair of slippers in front of it. it comes out and growles at the slippers and goes back under the bench. harry's wand wont point on it when its under the bench or out from under it. how do i get the monster book of monsters? please help me!

I CAN'T FIND THE LAST GARGOYLE!!

Ok, well I found the gargoyle in the Transfiguration Courtyard (were Dean is), then I found the gargoyle on the staircase (I think it was the Divination staircase or DADA staircase), then I found the one in the paved courtyard, then the one thats near the paved courtyard (on that bridge thing, (were it talks about how some gargoyle was knocked off cuz of Harry in the 4th). And I can't find the last! I've looked EVERYWHERE!! Please help!!

Also, I need help on the Snape's essay thing. Hermione and Ron keep telling me to go to the Library and they don't help me at all! I need to find some book about potions and I can't remember the name. Im so confused! I can't find that book and the library is NO help at all! PLEASE HELP!!!! Thank you :)

Arrghh, this is so annoying...
I've completed the tasks (getting all the Da members in the room, teaching them stuff, get caught by umbridge, All teachers mim quests...)
So I ask Ron and Hermione and they both say "look at the marauders map, you'll find the Da members"
So I do that, and nothings there!
What do I do?!?!?!

ok the book for snape is in the restricted area of the library it is in the last row on the left. the daily prophet you get by going into the great hall and messing with the bird sculpture at the front.

ok to get the camara you acuualy don't climb up over near the gargoal. you accually have to climp up on the ledge the you come in from. you have to get a bench to get up to it though then you have to climb up. Yeah i was a little stuck on that too.

Ok- I have finished the game with everything at 100% EXCEPT for catching the dadgum golden snitch!!! I have talked to all the portraits, (which released the Snitch)but now I can't catch it. I have run around the room pushing X and the Square, I have stacked tables, chairs, and climbed up pushing X and the square and I have even put on the invisibility cloak to try to catch it. It just flies around the common room, slowing up when it gets near me and then I push buttons madly but nothing happens! Anyone who can help me out there? Thank you, THank you!

Someone says..., The big rock is the food. You've got to list it up the hill and stop it in each of the little rock-circles while you get up yourself.

With Hannah Abbot, you you up the stair which you see if you look where' she's l;ooking and there's a portrait there which leads to the seventh floor. Get the password then talk to her again.

to daphene: you only need to stack 2 benches in order to reach the wall and climb up lol!

to tim: you take the cogs from the right and place them on the nobs on the left

Hey im up to the part where you have to to the stacking crap up against the wall thing for Luna Lovegood, something about a swamp, and its really hard, I have no idea what to do, it says stack 'things' when there is only one thing there in the courtyard...its a big old rock, I can climb on it but no way near big enoth to climb onto the roof on it, its really hard, if someone knows what to do email me at:

Hey guys I found out how to do the swamp thing, here!
Place the boulder along the wall where the roof is missing (just down from the bench,on the right side of the piece in the middle). Once the boulder is there, the bench will allow you to move it. Wingardium Leviosa the bench upwards to create a make shift roof (on the top). Climb up on the boulder which will allow you to climb up on the vine and step onto the bench. Walk on the bench along the roofline until you get to the front entry arch between the clock tower and the clock courtyard. Wingardium Leviosa the swamp to the ground, climb back down, place the swamp in the center of the courtyard fountain, move well away (Luna will tell you when you are far enough away), "reducto" or "incendio" the swamp, and Voila

you can get the slytherin password by wearing the invisibility cloak and going to the dungeons and listening on the slytherin conversations.
im on a psp and the password is slytherins are supreme.

Hey guys...

Alright, I completed 99% of the game.
BUT- the Room of Rewards is saying that I only found 11 of 12 House Symbols when I KNOW I found all of them. Could that be a glitch or something?

Also, I have about 98% on the Second Floor, Paved Courtyard, and Entrance Courtyard. And I have 65/66 chores done.

I've searched those areas countless times...

I hop i can help answer some questions. there is a gargoyle in the transfiguration courtyard under a tree. look at all the shelves in the library for the potions book. there will be a dark shelf with an X button for the xbox version. i found my last gargoyle on one of those long paved pathways that you find outside of the paved courtyard, there's also one on the way to the hospital wing and one on the way to defense of the dark arts class. Also reparo the stairs in the courtyard where you get colin's camera back. i still can't find the charms book, or the three faces riddle. but you can find a prophet on the table at the entrance hall. just chase the owl up to cho. When you get to the top, reparo the poles and climb up them when you get to the top of the last one he'll fly down to cho. for those of you who can't find any members after they've done all the challenges, go to the room of requirement. you can find hannah abbots portrait on one of the landings. good luck. although i can't say i enjoyed playing it as there were no flying scenes and the whole game is about cleaning up rubbish. glad i didnt buy it as i had it done in 2 days.

1. Viaduct Entrance
2. DADA Staircase
3. 4th Floor Balcony

ANGIE - to get Colin's camera move the bench with wingardium leviosa to the shelf/ledge portion all the way to the left, practically by the entrance to the courtyard. That is the only place you will be able to climb onto the ledge. Once you're up there you'll have to use incendio to burn the tree/bush thing blocking your way. Then it is just a matter of inching your way across ledges and climbing up pipes. If you find yourself stuck or something in your way, take out your wand and use reparo (to fix ledges/pipes/gargoyles/etc). Go as far as you can until you can get close enough to the camera to cast wingardium leviosa on it and send it down to Colin.

I was stuck on this FOREVER because I kept trying to climb directly from the bench to the drainpipe or the big part of the ledge. Yah, not so much.

This is for PSP - not sure about the other systems.

To get the book for snape's essay go to the restricted section of the libray. On the left hand hand, second last row. Go into row slowly and a square will appear....

For the camera you have to fix certain parts of the castle so you can climb and slide along the wall.....

I hope this is of some help....

Yes i do know how to get the swamp in the entrance court yard, you use the Wingardium Leviosa spell on a near by chair, move the chair to the right a bit and climb up to the roof use the Reparo spell on the roof, climb across then u will see some bricks( i think use accio )then use wingardium leviosa to lift the box and drop it

If like any of you have got the answers on what to do after finding Luna's things, write back on this.

I also know how you get Hannah Abbot, if u need it, u just go to the stairs and their is a portrait there it will say something like a quest. Once done that just go to Hannah and she'll go.

Once you have done EVERYTHING you can think of && Ron && Hermione tell you to look for more DA members.. It means you missed something.
Word of advice. For the swamp things, you need to set off 3, One with Luna, One with Ginny, and then one where you find Collins camera...

I actually was playing Harry Potter P.O.A the other day and i know exactly where you are Alicia(comment posted October 1st)! lol you probably have already figured it out by now but if you haven't you put glacius on all three of the handles and then make each character hang onto one of them. But you have to do all this before the handles catch fire again. The floor they are standing on will fall and you will have to face alot of Red Caps! Hope that helped!

Darren - u have to help Fean before umbridge catches you surely?

Well anyway u dont have to move the cogs upstairs. Wat u do it move all the right ones to the left. then go upstairs and use the spell u use to float them down to dean. then u go down and put them on the clock i think.

I did it ages ago but that might be some help.

Hi, um I'm really stuck on this part, I'm trying to get those bottles of Fred and George's in Umbridges office.I have NO idea how to get them. I put on the cloke and went to Defense Against the Dark Arts class room, but I wasn't able to go up the little stairs to her office or get that book the slytherins wanted -your not allowed to use your wand in there, and I cant reach it on top of a table. Is the way blocked to her office? Or am I supposed to help the Slytherins first? If so, how? People all ready said to go to the office in your cloke and get the bottles while smashing pots, but that makes no sense. Of course I do smash the pots though. I just can't get up the stairs,as if theres a wall there. And I can't go up when I'm not wearing one either. I need help! Please, I've been stuck for almost two months, literally!

Veronica - I dunno really but all i can say is smash the pots, so that the Slytherins move to fix them. Then your free to walk up the stairs to get the potion for the twins.

When your in it should be very easy to find. Pretty sure its in the back part of the office and u cant miss it!

Mike - I think you've got to go to the restricted section in the library and i think its the back corner. But when your close Hermoine says 'there it is' or something

I found the one in the place where Dean is;
I found the one in the valdiuct place;
and I also found the one at the top of the place where you have to help Collin get his camera back. I need the last one!

I have gathered all members of the DA, but It still appear a task on griffindor common room, I guess It's something with Ginny, but I can't talk to her and I tried to go again to Umbridge's office ( You need to save fred and jorge from umbridge's office so Ginny goes with you to the Room of Requirement ). Ok hope this helps people who are stuck the book for Snape's essay is on the left side of the Restricted section in the library.

and 4 the person who can't find the last gargole (if you havn't already found it) its on the 4th floor you go onto the balcony and turn left also cast incendio on them and you get discovery pionts.

The gargoyles are the pig rocks (well at least the ones that can talk are)

To get the camera for colin you need to cat Incendio on the tree thing then you need to get one of the chairs and put it at the bottom of the wall that sticks out then climb up go left then stop at the pole climb up the pole then climb onto the next ledge, go right then climb up the pole to the next ledge, go left repair the pole climb up go along the wall repair the broken bit of ledge then continue going along the wall until the ledge stops then stand on the ledge you just repaired and cast Wingardium Leviosa on the camera send it over the edge and press x to end the spell.

(there may not be as many ledges on your way up as I have stated)

T o get the daily prophet you need to cast Dupolso on the stand then cast accio and the owls should come and drop the prophet on the table with the chess players if this doesn't work check the table to see if they have already dropped it.

Galpas, the ist gargoyle is outside the viaduct entrance. The 2nd is in the Paved Courtyard. Go up the stairs in the top left corner and run down the staircase until you find the gargoyle. The 3rd is just outside the defence against the dark arts with Umbridge. The 4th is in the transfiguration classroom on the right wall. The fifth is off the fourth floor. Go to the fourth floor hallway were the girl with the hat used to be. There should be a archway to your left when you pass that corner. Turn sharp left and follow the walkway until you find the statue.

the "find three faces as ive said or simply stand around instaed" portrait to the boathouse can only be opened if u know the password, u have to go all around hogwarts until u have discovered the password, the first portrait says it cant remember and maybe ask the_______ portrait, u then just follow the chain until u find the portrai that knows it. In the end the password is "This password is absurd." kinda odd, hope that helps~~~~~~ :)

heres where all the gargoyles are:

1. outside the viaduct entrance(Exterior walkway)
2. in the paved courtyard, up some stairs just keep going till you find it.
3. right outside the defense against the dark arts class room.
4. in the transfiguration classroom on the wall.
5. on the forth floor, there is a balcony sort of thing, and you just follow it till you see the last gargoyle.

You should be able to find them now.

P.S. if anyone knows how to get into Umbrides office, can you please tell me? I'm on psp.

it took me forever to find the last gargoyle.....thing, and you go to the clock tower and you go to the very top of it and you go down a hallway and there is an archway, and you go in it. just to make sure you are in the right place, there is a balcony and you go left to the very end and it is there!

To the person who asked how to pour the liquid over the speaker in the library...
Right well there should be two benches nearby, not necessarily IN the library but yeah near to it. Use Wingardium Leviosa on them and you should be able to stack them on top of each other underneath the speaker. Then climb on top of them and press Square to pour the potion.

Millie, you know you were asking about the Luna part with the meat?
Well if you go to the bottom of the hill where Luna is stood. Use Wingardium Leviosa to lift the meat and direct it towards the nearest row of rock and drop it. Then do the same again from there and then again until you reach the top. Sorry this isn't a brilliant description but it's hard to explain!

Hey, to anyone who needs help with the camera. you use "wingardium leviosa" to left one of the benches to the side with the thick wall. so when you first walk on its on your left. then when you turn, its devil snare a little space then the ending you should only need one bench. then to get the stuff down from the tree you do "wingardium leviosa". If anyone could please help me with the clock tower with Dean Thomas. I'm oblivious to what you have to do. BTW, system = PS2 Thanks! :)

Neville is in the room of requirement for proffesor sprouts mini-quest and to get the book off the shelf for hary's cut hand use Wingardium Leviosa, Accio, or Depulso, then it will move around the shelves so u keep doing one of those spells until you get the book.

Hi Nicola... the portrait that asks for the password from 50 years ago is on the 3rd floor. Just go to your marauder's map and scroll down to find "Third Floor". Then he tells you that the last time he heard it was 50 years ago and unless you knew someone from 50 years ago you couldn't find out. But all you have to do is go to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and ask her.

Oh! And for anyone asking about where the shepardess is....i found it and its really confusing to find... When the dude in the portrait tells you to find the shepardess on the 2nd floor, and you're freaking out cos you're on the 2nd floor, you need to once again go to your handy dandy marauders map and scroll down the locations until you come to the "Second Floor." Then you go up the stairs and shes right in front of you...But be careful, because she doesn't stand out from the other portraits because shes not guarding a passage, and the bottom of her frame starts at Harry's head. She looks like Little Bo Peep from "Toy Story."

Ron's Girl, to look at the notice board you have to perform the spell: Wingdardium leviosa or depulso.

If you want more points you have to turn the board back over to the blank side and press Action on it: this will cause you to draw on the board and give you more points in order to finish the room.

okay...

for Luna that rock next to Luna in the game is the meat for the Thestrals and you cast Wingardium Leviosa on it and manipulate it so that it lands behind those rocks so it doesn't roll down the hill.

for Aflac, the portrait that rhymes is really hard. when you go ask the guy and he tells you to go to the second floor, go to the marauder's map and scroll down the locations until you come to the second floor. then go there. it's the stair case with two landings. you need to find the shepardess on the landing. she is right in front of the first flight of stairs, but she doesn't stand out from the other paintings because she isn't guarding anything.

I only moved the couch with wingardium leviosa and then I put the table so that I can climb It, and then press Enter to talk to him, then he wants my help to fin HIS snitch, that It's hidden in a portrait in the common room, its a portrait of an oldman with long beard and in the painting you can see the snitch flying near his head, so just talk to the portrait listen him and see what happens!!! I don't know if I helped someone but anyone tell me if we need to catch the snitch!!!

Hey guys! Okay, I am done with the game but I only have a 61%. I'm new with the game also, I didn't even have it for a week yet, haha. But when I DO PLAY AGAIN, I have a few questions so I can get it next time:

1. Where are all of Kreachers stuff? I found 2 in the room where Ginny is at. I found a sleeping musical thing and a necklace/locket.

2. How do I get the password for the rhyming portrait? Saying something about 3 heads and I think I found 2. idk, Harry asked the portaits something and they answered saying to ask this portrait and idk what they're talking about.

3. Where is the snitch at? I looked through the portraits but I don't see it.

4. When I open the curtain up for the chess pieces, it sometimes won't open. Do I need to cast a diff. spell or something?

I can help with your questions that haven't been answered on here:

1. When messing up the clock; first you have to make it go backwards which you move around the clock wheel things until they're all fitted together and moving on the other side of the clock where Dean is standing at. Then you go upstairs and do Wingardium Leviosa on the extra pieces and carefully levitate them down where Dean is at. After that you go back downstairs and put the pieces on the right side and move them around; ONLY THE EXTRA PIECES until they're all fitted together and moving. Then the clock will get screwed up.

2. After the encounter with Malfoy at Hagrids; you just look at your tasks and then accomplish it. You SHOULD have a task or 2.

4. Ginny in the common room; She gave you a task about Fred and George, you g2 the boys dorm room and get the clock, then you g2 DADA room, but you have to distract the students in there which it easy to do, and then in Umbriges office and the camera will show you what you need to get but Umbridge WILL BE IN THE ROOM but don't worry about her, just be careful where you are walking.

5. Flitwicks book is in the Great Hall, a girl has it and the camera shows you where she is.

Anything else let me know! GO HARRY POTTER! WHOO!

In the end we are shown a cinematic video of some of the game chores, etc!

sara for the rhyming password go to the seventh floor were the DA is and go past the tivination tower and there should be a portrate there. Talk to him and he will tell you to go to professer Bazel Fronsak and he is the portrate on the second floor then he will say to go to the shpordes on the second floor landing, so you have to go all the way around to the other side of that portrate, were the library is and start to go down the steps there and there will be a picture on the wall of little bo peep and you should beable to go from there. For the owls they are in the great hall, so just go the front were dombldor makes his speeches and you first have to clear the clouds from the ceiling by doing depolso, then wengardeum leveosa and the owls should fly down from up in the rafters.

Jonathan: Lunas stuff is on the table in the Great Hall (clothes) and in the Library (the Gryffindor lion hat), in front of the statue thingy in the middle of the clocktower courtyard (her pink shoes), on the right side of the book shelf where the stuttering portrait is in the Vaildult entrance (a newspaper), and in the courtyard outside of the entrance hall, you have to cast wingardium leviosa on the broom and sweep up all the leaves. One of her things are buried in there (a bag).

I was stuck too just follow the footprints to the owlery where you'll talk to colin creevy and do something for him then after that just keep following the footprints hope this helped.

Im gathering up all of the D.A members at the moment. I have found all the gargoyles, found the potion ingredients etc. but on my marauders map it says there is a task in the LIBRARY. Im not sure but there are some kids bullying a girl right at the back but i think it might be them i have to get rid of. I try attacking them but it says 'No Harry, try something else.' I don't know how to scare them off. Ive tried using the invincibility cloak and Ive tried getting a mandrake root to scare them but it dont work. Please tell me wot the mission in the library is.

P.S. Im on the psp version of the game!!!

Hi i only bought harry potter and the order of the phoenix for my psp yesterday, but i am completley stuck. I need to go to detention in proffesor Umbridge's office but the easy way is locked, so i have to take the long way. I used the maraders map to get there and it brings me to a stair case. You need to go through the bottom of it to get to the office, but i cant change the view to get to it. Ive kept trying for hours but im completley stuck, please give me tips!!

for all the people hu dunno how 2 catch the snitch, wot i did was that i stood on the table and wen the snitch came close 2 me i repeatedly pressed the square button.

anotha useful tip is that if ur in a room and u wanna no wher 2 find discovery points just hold down the circle button and if u stil hav discovery points 2 find in that place, wen u scroll over the point wher u can gain discovery points the controller will vibrate and the item will flash!

does ne1 no wot 2 do wiv the movable pillar in the stone circle?

to get the camera off the ledge you have to move the bench in front of the ledge and then climb all th poles and some you will have to repair that's how you get the camera.

if you are talking about the howlers task you have to go through a door on the top floor to reach the very top and then reparo the bench the jump out of the window.
you then work your way down on the ledges

Right Cheri,

1. Put on the invisibility cloak and go down to the bottom of all the stair cases, then you will see a door. Go through it and You will see to Slitherens. They will lead you to the Portrait and say "Slitherins are supreme!". Loose the cloak and go back down and try the password.

2. The portrait actually says, "Find three faces." And that is part of number 3. Go to the second floor, using the third floor door. Go to Suspention bridge and go up the stairs as if you were going to Umbridge's office, stop at the landing of the talking gargoile and go down all the stairs until you reach a corridor. Turn right, and go down the stairs to the second landing. There you will find the Sheperdess, who will lead you to another portrait. Good luck!

You CAN'T get into their common rooms.
The only common room you can get into is the Gryffindor. And the portraits should tell you how to get the password. You ask a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff student for help on the portraits.

Buuut...I STILL need help! I found 14 out of 15 of those wizard plagues or whatever you call them. Those trophy looking things around the castle...I can't find the last one! And this is going to sound REALLY dumb, but any tips how to beat the Slytherin chess champion? I think he cheats and I can't beat him! But in the room of rewards it says I have discovered 95% of whats in Hogwarts...what am I missing?? idk what else to do besides beating the Gobstone and Chess champions look for that last plague. Oh, and I am stuck on all the discoveries in the common room and boys dormitry. I can't get a 100% on them...so ANYONE can you help me PLZ? Thanks!

Kirstie- Luna is outside the great hall, in front of the big statue.

Charlotte- The newspaper is in the great hall. You go to Dumbledore's podium, cast depulso so the ceiling doesn't have the sky, and the cast wingardium leviosa on the podium and owls will come out.

To sabotage the clock tower you first have to make it run backwards, so use wingardium leviosa to move the cogs to the opposite side. After that, you have to find the spare cogs on the top floor and levitate them down. Go back to Dean and put the cogs in the right place on the tower (try until you get it right) and the clock will go beserk and start moving fast.

Charlotte- I'm stuck with Defense the Dark Arts too! I don't remmeber what I found. Well..I talked to that gargoyle again on the staircase, I mopped the floors, I found Lockhart's poster behind the cabniet in the classroom, but it's hard to see, I did the slide show on the projector, I warmed up the classroom, I found the pixie, and I think that's it that all I found. For herbology, I dicovered the devils snare, made the room air out, discovered the mandrakes, and you know those pots on a table with a bucket of dirt and water can? You put the dirt over each pot until something grows a little bit, and then water them until something grows completely, and thats it. Hope that helps. I need help with the trophy room, idk what else to discover!

Yeah i think that is about all I have as well but I can't find anything else! I've got most of hagrid's hut (96%) and all of herbology but still really stuck on DADA. That thing with the soil and water helped btw, thanks! I think the only other thing I have left now is the gryffindor common room (have you completed that? I'm stuck on 97%) and beating the last gobstones champion.

But in the trophy room you can pick up the duster and clean the 2 trophies to the right of the fireplace. After you have done that press the action button whilst you are next to each one. That should be everything for the trophy room.

Charlotte- For the common room, what I had to do to finish it was talking to the portrait on the right side of the Gryffindor chess players. Hagrids Hut is hard, but cast depulso and possibly accio on his front door and run into as many crows as you can, like on his stone fence, you'll get discovery points. Herbology, idk what you got, so just whip out your wand out and WALK, NOT RUN around the greenhouse and see if your wand lights up anywhere. I'm still stuck on DADA too, and I actually got the Trophy room finished as soon as I asked about it, haha, thanks anyways! I need help on the 2nd floor, idk what else to find and it's not completed, and also the Clocktower courtyard, entrance courtyard. Thanks! Oh, and Kirstie, sorry that you can't find Luna, I don't have DS so idk where she could be, I have PC. :[[

I will try that on the common room, i have managed to get it to 99% now though. Still stuck on hagrid's hut but have got all of herbology now. In DADA I got 100% now by casting wingardium leviosa on all the desks and then going to the front and casting depulso on the first one to make them all close, not sure if you will have tried that.

For the courtyards, have you beaten the gobstones players? I am stuck against the hogwarts champion, she is so hard to beat! Also in the courtyard with the pear tree you have to pick them off and put them in the basket, don't know if that will help.

I'm not really sure about the chess but I try to win by keeping the castles and queen safe until the end and then use them to trap the king in the last two rows, maybe that will work.

Have you completed the stone circle? I'm stuck on 87%!

o sry im on PC. i also know where all lunas belongings are:in the viaduct entrance near the bookcase,in the courtyard leading to hagrids hut infront of the fountain,in the entrance courtyard. Its under a pile of leaves near the second pillar on the right hand side closest to the entrance,in the library on a table,and in the great hall....i also know the gargoyles-->leading up the stars to defence againsgt the dark arts, in the transfiguration garden thing,near the viaduct bridge, on the fourth floor out on a balcony, and in the viaduct courtyard --you go up the stairs and keep going until the end. Hope that helps to whoever needs it!:)

lunafan - To get the password for the slytherin portrait you have to put on the invisibility cloak in the boys dormitory. Then you have to go to the dungeon corridor at the bottom of the grand staircase. There will be a cutscene sowing two slytherins. Follow them around to the portrait and you will be able to hear the password.

im on pc so i dont know if this will help but the gargoyles in my game are as followed;
1.In the transfiguration courtyard
2.Up the stairs leading to DADA
3.In the viaduct courtyard-you go up the stairs and just keep going until you reach it
4.On a balcony on the fourth floor
5.And there is one leading to the viaduct entrance on that bridge

lunafan - It took me ages to get everything on DADA. Have you tried opening all the desks then going to the front and casting on the first desk on each row? That is how I finished it. Also there is a poster behind a cabinet.

As for Umbridge's office, if you go into the store room at the side, the trunk that Moody was in is in there. Press enter to examine it. That could be what you are missing.

Shazia - Are you on PC? If you are you have to move the bench using wingardium leviosa to climb up the ledge onto the roof. Repair the roof and use reducto on the turret. I have only played PC so it might be different on something else.

Taylor - I didn't really understand the clock task to start with either. You have to take off three of the cogs and put them back in spaces on the opposite side. When you have done that you get the spare cogs and levitate them down. Try them in a few different places until Dean tells you that you have it right. The clock will start spinning fast and out of control.

There are like 5 levels for finding books in the library. Im on pc, so i dont know if this will help but w/e.
1. the one where you are getting snapes book you go ino the very back of the restriction section and the book is on the far left. Just walk around until you see the enter sign.

2.The monster book of monsters for zackariahs is in the second part of the library on a table on the right hand side

3. for finding the book for the essence of murtlap you just climb on the table to get it until it comes down.

4. Flitwicks essay-I think its the one that you have to go into the grand hall and their will be a cut scene.

5. Sprouts essay-go to the oom of requirement and talk to neville. He will let you use his herbology book in the boys domiory...he will tell u where it is.

i think thats it...hope it helped:)

I have finished 99% in the transfiguration courtyard... I have moved the benches, pulled up the lighted symbols, spoke to the gargoyle, fought the slytherins, and spun the compass in the middle. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am missing.

Also, do I have to catch the doxy in the dada room?

I am on PC and have finished 89% of the game... Would like to help others if they need it...

leannaestes - for the transfiguration courtyard, have you cast incendio on the talking gargoyle? you have to do that on all of them. I can't think of anything else that you might be missing :S. And no I don't think you have to catch the pixie.

Jane - The last gobstone player is in the paved courtyard. It is a gryffindor girl and she is standing near to the slytherin gobstone ring, but she is not playing in a ring of her own. You have to play all 3 different games against her but I found it really hard to win!

Joseph - The book for snape's essay is in the restricted section of the library. It is on the second to back row on the left and it is the only book on the shelf.

Anyone ask if you need more help :)

I missed why u do this task but I don't think it is the one with the monster book thing for zach smith as other people have mentioned, but it is in the library and the book is on top of a book shelf . I get the table and a smaller bookcase and climb on them to cast at the book and the only spell it lets me use is accio which makes it fly to another book shelf, does anyone know what to do here?

(this part is early on in the game by the way)

ok for the book that u get in the library, its to help harry's hand, you cast wingardium leviosa on the big table -move it to which ever bookcase the book has landed on and climb up, it will keep moving so you repeat the process, then it will come down onto the table where the ppl are playing chess and you walk up to it. Then you pree enter and a cutscene will start.

Need help finishing the game. I have completed all tasks but I haven't found all the discoveries. It's really frustrated, I'm completely stumped. I've failed to finish the following:

to get the newspaper you go into the great hall right up to the staff table until you see a podium with a owl at the bottom, cast wingardiam leviosa on it and a little cutscene will start showing the newpaper being dropped on the table or floor. grab the paper and return to the portrait.

Sarah - Fred and George's parcels are spread out everywhere. Try casting depulso on the grass bush things. There are a few in hagrids hut, the library, the boathouse and the owlery but I can't remember exactly where they all are. To get the daily prophet you cast depulso then wingardium leviosa on the podium at the front of the great hall. An owl will drop it.

Stephanie - Sorry, the only way to beat the ravenclaw chess champion is to be good at chess. I usually sacrafice my queen to take hers.

SPELLcaster - There is a belonging in the clock tower courtyard, near the fountain in the middle. The last one is underneath one of the piles of leaves in the entrance courtyard. You have to sweep it with the broom.

For everyone looking for the potions book for snape's essay, it is in the restricted section of the library, the second row from the back on the left hand side.

Here's a list of the 12 portraits and how to get their passwords-

1.50 Years Portrait: Talk to Moaning Myrtle (she's accessible in her Bathroom).

2.Fat Lady/Gryfindor Common Room: Talk to any Gryfindor student and they will gladly give you the password.

3.Daily Prophet/Newspaper Portrait: Cast Accio on the pedestal in the Great Hall (casting other spells gives off neat results as well) reveal the password (unbeknownst to them, you're right there to hear it).

4.Slytherin Portrait: Put on the Cloak of Invisibility and head down to the Dungeon/Potions Classroom area. Sooner or later a Slytherin student will.

5.Hungry Woman Portrait: Head down to Gifford (portrait of a man with a dog) and he'll send food to her, giving you access.

6.Hufflepuff Portrait: Talk to any Hufflepuff student and they will give you the password.

7.Hannah Abbot Portrait: This is the one found during the Hannah Abbot DA task. Just talking to the portrait reveals it's password.

8.Ravenclaw Portrait: Talk to any Ravenclaw student and they will give you the password.

9.Herbology Portrait: Cast Reparo on the knights near him, then talk to him to retrieve the password.

10.Viaduct Entrance/Privacy Portrait: To gain access, you must scare away students by aiming your wand at them(RB), then talk to the portrait.

11.7th Floor Portrait: Find the portrait on the fourth floor with spider webs covering his face, clear them away and talk to him.

12.The "Riddle Guy" Portrait: Talk to the 7th Floor portrait (near the RoR), then travel to the second floor and find the Professor Portrait(Ravenclaws password). Now find the Shepherdess Portrait (girl with sheep) on the second floor and you're sent to the Viaduct Entrance/Privacy Portrait. Finally, the Privacy Portrait sends you to Gifford (portrait of a man with a dog) who then gives you the password.

For Ozzyos, for Dean Thomas's task you have to find the gargoyles here's the answer.

1. go to defense against dark arts on the big stairway to the right their will be eventually a gargoyle.

2.In the paved courtyard you will see stairs go up the stairs keep going along till you reach the end their will be a gargoyle.

3.When coming out of the entrance courtyard to go to the paved court don't. Go to the right at the start of the viaduct their will be a gargoyle.

4.A gargoyle is in the transfiguraation yard where Dean Thomas.

5.I don't know for sure but on the first floor you will see stairs away from when you come in go up it there will be a few doorways go threw the one that takes you outside at one of the ends it might be there, if not there do the same thing for the fourth floor.

For lunafan.

There's the chamber of secrets and the lights try the stalls with depulso or accio for moaning myrtles bathroom.
In Umbridges office i don't even have 100%, but i do know in the next room where fred and george's fireworks are look aroung there there will defintely be something to cast there.

Stephanie - You lift the cuboid stone, put it in front of the stone next to it the climb up on to it. It should play a cutscene. If it doesn't, just move it a little bit because it is hard to get it in the right place.

For Hagrid's Hut have you watered the flowers round the back of it? That is how I finished it.

In Herbology I think you will be able to finish it by putting soil in the plant pots and then watering them (hover the buckets over the pots).

Outside herbology, try all the curtains

The gobstones champions are in 3 different courtyards. Once you have beaten the hufflepuff, ravenclaw and slytherin champions, the Hogwarts champion is a gryffindor girl who is standing behind the slytherin ring, but not in a ring of her own.

Chazi - Now you can look for all discovery points if you want to finish the game.

okay people i am on the psp. i am really stuck. i think that i got all the DA members notified for the DA meeting but my game says there is more. GOOGLE STUMP PORTRAIT PASSWORD ANSWER (PS3):

If you can't get the Slytherins to clear off, pull your wand and face them, then press the R1 button. Do this for both Slytherins and they will run away, then ask the portrait again and he will tell you the password.

hello all. i am in need of a bit of help. when i am in the paved courtyard, i found the drain that i am allowed to climb near one of the bird statues up the set of stairs. once i reach the top, i was able to climb onto a ledge off the side of the roof. if i follow the path there is a broken something and that is where i get stuck. i have tried casting all the spells on it, but it gets me nowhere. i cannot follow along this path unless it is fixed, so does anyone know if it is fixable and if so, how can i go about fixing it?

pick up the ones on the right and put them on the little knobs on the left and then when told to go upstairs and pass the other wheels down and go back down atairs and put them on the lower right knobs. the smallest one goes to the furthest right knob right beside the largest one etc..

I'm playing on a Mac (But I'm not sure if that effects this). I cannot get past the suspension bridge and into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom because I have to save Neville first. When I point my wand at the Slythrins I can't cast any spell at them because I haven't learnt any Combat spells yet. How do I defeat the Slythrins?

When they tell you to look on the map for DA members but nobodies there , you need to complete the swamp task. Go to the paved coutyard and repair the steps. Climb the pipe and the swamp box is at the top.

If you havent learnt any combat spells yet go to the room of requirement first. The Da members that you have already helped will be there. You'll learn some combat spells then.

For the Hannah Abbott question. After youve found her , she'll tell you to find a secret passageway to the 7th floor, the portrait is to the right of her and up some stairs. When you ask him he will tell you the password. Go back to her and tell her it , and then she'll go to the room of requirement . =]

and also , after the lunas belongings task, is there any other set tasks? or do you just have to find all the secrets?

and is the teachers 'O.W.L revision tasks' all you have to do for the owl?

hi, does anyone know how to get the rest of the discovery points on the second floor? i have already tried casting all spells on everything i can see (i think) but it just doesnt work for me, it looks like there's 2 lamps out just next to the door to charms (flitwicks room) but i've tried casting incendio and it just doesn't seem to work :( . i have 97% on that bit and 99% on the overall game, if i can just get this then i'll have it completed - please help, i'll return the favour if anyone needs any help on PC.

question..

you have to wingardium leviosa all the desks then go to the front of the room (by the stairs) and cast depulso on the first desk of each row and it jumps to a cutscene then you get lots of discovery points. also try a variety of different spells on the projector thing. cast incendio on the heater thing at the front, top left hand corner and spin the blackboard with accio and press return to get lots of points. also the wardrobe thing at the bottom right cast accio/depulso on it and go round to see a tapestry/picture and press return. i think thats all.

Cast Wingardium Leviosa on the meat & move it to the first set of high stones. From there you can move it to where Luna wants it.

Just to let peeps know the shepherdess portrait is on the second floor (obviously!!) BUT she is not by the moving staircases if you have the password to the second floor person which is "studious success" take a right and you will see an opening which has stairs and portraits on the walls go down once and the shepherdess will be there

and also the room of requirement is on the seventh floor in the same area
as divination

anyhoo i finished the game the day it came out and saw this website so thought id help

aoife- the top window you have to fix the step that you climb on to get out using reparo. there is a room to the left of the screen where the step is

climb on that and out the window after that you have to manuver harry around the owlery and slide down pipes until your at the bottom

Ok. I see a lot of questions stating stuff that I can help out with.
1. In order to beat Collin Creevey's quest, you need to take the table and put it by the ledge near the exit that Collin is by and then you have to technically just use Reparo on all the broken stuff.
2. The 2nd three face portait is outside of the ospital wing.
3. There is only 1 quest in the Gryfinndor common room. That's the one where you have to get the doxy venom back. If that and the room of requirement are the only ones on your list, go to the room of requirement. Make sure you talk to everyone you can. You have to talk to them twice in a row to have you and them learn the speel. Even talk to Hermoine.
4. The gargoyle's are: Floor 4 ledge, Outside DADA, Transfiguration classroom (as soon as you go in turn left), and two on the Extirer Walkway. 5. Luna's belongings: Great Hall table, Library table, Viaduct entrance, Clocktower courtyard, Entrance courtyard.
6. Flitwick's Charms book is in the Great Hall. A girl will be reading a book. Talk to her and you have the book.
7. Professor Snape's potion book is in the restricted section (back of Library) and on the last row on the left
8. The task where you have to screw up the clock is easy. Just switch the 2 biggest gears. That's what I did, I think.

Ok, as much as I can help with(on X360):

On the Colin Creavy Camera task you're climbing the wall and edging along ledges. to use reparo you need to be on a wider ledge and come away from the wall out of the "edging" stance. Once you've got the idea, it's not too bad.

To Finish the homework tasks:
Charms - Find book in Great Hall - only person with books is by the fire.
Potions - Book in the restricted section of the library.
Herbology - Speak to Nevile and get the book from the boys dormitory.

To get 100% - a lot of areas have hidden things. Some Vases hold frogs and a push or pull charm will get the frog out and raise the score.
Cast reparo on all broken stuff, use wingardium leviosa on mops, brooms and dusters to clean and clear up messes and spills. Rugs need a push charm to clean them up. Lights/torches need to be lit, armor needs to be repaired or repeatedly push charmed until it stands straight.

Some places need to be set up for a domino effect to get the discovery points. DADA you need to use wing... Lev... on each desk and hold them open, then once all are open, go to the blackboard and use a push charm on the first desk, they shut in a domino effect and you get points. It takes a while, but if you persevere you can get there!

When you have all of Lunas stuff you must complete the things like, getting all of the flying animals and all of the animal prints. Most of the animal prints are in the forest next to Hagrids house. When you are in the forest look over the ground, and when you see something, stand on it and press the square button.

To get 100% on the game you must make sure you complete everything!

P.S This is for the PS2, but I am think it will be th same on everything.
