Back in June, Manhunt 2 was effectively banned in the US and UK.
Today, we get word that Rockstar has toned down the game enough to get an "M" rating from the ESRB.
Many of us still think that the original banning was Rockstar's way of getting press for the game and never had any intention of releasing it in July. October 31st seems much more appropriate.
That being said, I don't think we'll be playing this one.

I'm playing it at the moment. I don't think getting the game banned and losing content is a marketing ploy. It's a real shame the world places blame on the content of such media and not in the weakness of individuals who play these games and happen to have issues that are triggered when subjected to it. It's like drugs and alcohol. Don't blame the substance, blame your self-restraint.
Aside from the selling point of violence this game is good and deserves to sell. It's a shame we won't see a clean "directors cut" of the Wii version in the UK. It would have been a real nice party game much akin to Wario ware and the like.
But hey for those of us who have the means this will not be lost in time with games such as Sensible Software's "Sex, Drugs,Rock & Roll." You have to think that this leak was maybe not wholly unfavourable by the development team ;)
