Yes, this actually happened to a California teen. The parents are working with EB Games to replace the phone book.

LOL! This reminds me of the smart guy who bought a "laptop" for $100 from the back of a minivan in a Kmart parking lot last week. He was also told he couldn't open it till the guys selling the laptops left. He also purchased a phonebook! lol. Apparently the guys selling the laptops/phonebooks have upped their price to $400. Serves those morons right for buying what they could only assume was stolen merchandise in the first place.
And I'm sure EB will replace the PS3. Gotta love inside jobs. Since UPS delivers those things, I can only assume one of them stole it. Wouldn't have happened w/an XBox 360, you'd need too many phonebooks to equal the weight for the size box. Maybe some bricks...
