So, we finally got a Wii Fit a few days ago. I've been on it three times now, twice taking the body test, and today, for 20 minutes doing various exercises.
My first body test, yesterday afternoon, had me at 167 lbs and a BMI of 22.67, or something like that. Yesterday evening, we celebrated our anniversary with a feast at the Cheesecake Factory. Afterwards, I decided to step back on the balance board and retake the body test. Oy. I had gained 2 lbs in three hours. I guess that's what calamari, a club sandwich, a half-loaf of bread, french fries, and a bite of key lime cheesecake gets ya.
Today, I took it for another spin. Again, I started with a body test and found my weight up another 1.5 lbs. Geez, I need to slow down on the eating. Anyhoo, I did a variety of activities, including the hula hoop (which I found hilarious due to the fact that the two Miis throwing rings at me were Jesus and Hitler...what are the chances?), running in place, step aerobics, push ups, and a few yoga poses. It seems I need some work as the game kept telling me that I am a yoga novice and that I am a couch potato. In my defense, the push up thing was confusing, I didn't have enough room to do the twisty part of the push up, and yes, I can do many a push up despite the fact that I've only been to the gym once in the past six weeks (having a baby will do that).
But, yes, I'm impressed. After 20 minutes of various exercises, I was pretty winded. I enjoy the instant feedback of your weight distribution on the yoga, and the step aerobics was quite fun (again, didn't give myself enough room). I set a goal of losing 7.5 pounds in two weeks to get my BMI down from the high 22s to the high 21s...21.98 is my goal. So, between the gym (which I hope to work in a few times), eating better, and doing some Wii Fit, we'll see if I make it.
Oh, btw, my Wii Fit age was 45 yesterday and 38 today! Although that seems good, I'm 31, so I have some work to do.
