It seems Yahtzee received a wee bit of negative feedback for his Super Smash Bros. Brawl review. So, instead of reviewing a game this week, he's opted to review you, the viewer. Super bonus, it includes one of the funnier GameSpot digs I've ever heard.
For the record, it is my opinion that gamers are split into two groups: Those who love Super Smash Bros. and those who don't. I, along with Yahtzee, fall into the latter group, and I thank him for both his review of the game and his response to those who can't handle the criticism.
Head on over to the newly launched LEGO Indiana Jones website and take part in the treasure hunt to earn yourself Indy wallpapers, stickers, coloring pages, avatars, and ringtones (coming soon).
When you're done downloading, check out the screenshots, the trailer, the forums...oh, there's just so much LEGO Indy goodness, you're just going to have to see it for yourself!
In case you didn't know, Okami today makes its debut on the Nintendo Wii. In conjuction with the launch, Deviant Art is teaming up with Capcom to hold an Okami-inspired Art Contest.
I have little artistic skill yet this game is so stunning that all I want is to paint cherry trees all day. I'm thinking they'd make good wall murals, but I don't think Allison would be too pleased with that.
In case you missed Okami on the PS2 (as most of us did), you need only wait two more days to experience this awesome adventure on the Nintendo Wii.
Also, in case you were worried the Wii version lacks a little somethin' somethin' the PS2 version might have had, worry no more, as IGN's Okami review lets us know that the game is completely at home on the Wii.
This is a game that we passed on when it came out a while back, despite it getting great reviews. It debuts for the Wii on April 15, and the game seems tailor made for the Wii Remote. Having played a good chunk of the PS2-version, I can deem it one of my favorite games of all time (similar gameplay to a Zelda game). It has renewed my faith in good game development and I can't wait to play it on the Wii!
Per usual, you can check in on our growing guide as it's being written. It will eventually include all clovers, all stray beads, all zodiac statues, and all animals to feed. Enjoy!
Yahtzee gives No More Heroes one of the more favorable reviews I've ever heard him give.
And, while I generally agree with him, the repetition took its toll on me.
Lunabean's Unofficial Insecticide Walkthrough and Strategy Guide for the Nintendo DS is all you need to guide Detective Chrys Liszt through the criminal insect underworld ruled by a murderous bug villian.
In an interview with GameTrailers.com Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime informed the host that the second half of '08 is going to be "fantastic" and that there will be "great new content maximizing all of our key franchises."
What's more, the Nintendo head announced, "There's going to be a big game for the holidays that the gamers will want."
Now, of course the president and ex-VP of marketing is going to hype the future of Nintendo, but, I have to admit, this unnamed holiday '08 title really has me scratching my head.
It can't be Zelda, as we just had one holiday '06. No Mario, as that came out holiday '07. Metroid? No, it also just came out. Pikmin? Well, I'd love that, but I don't think "the gamers" would be horribly excited. A completely new franchise? I'd think we'd hear of it more that 6 months ahead of the release. Man, oh, man. What could this holiday '08 title be?
Unfortunately, none of us will know the answer to this burning question until E3 this July. And, truth be told, we all know anything that's announced by Nintendo in July and promised to be released for the "holidays", will, most likely, be delayed time and time again. It's just how Nintendo works. It's part of their hype machine. Too bad I'm a sucker for it each and every time.
While I often entertain the thought of being a contestant on Iron Chef America, my lack of actual culinary skills, along with my fear that the revealed theme ingredient would be monkey brains, prevents me from going too far with this fantasy.
With that being said, I couldn't be more pleased that Destineer and Black Lantern Studios are developing a playable version of my favorite Food Network program for both the Wii and DS. From the comfort of my living room, I'll now be able to battle master chefs Mario Batali, Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto, and Cat Cora.
The virtual kitchen stadium will offer 15 theme ingredients, allowing for "hundreds of dish variations", along with 300 minigames. Oh, and the best part? No clean up. BooYa!
For those who love puzzle games, Zack and Wiki is the game for you.
In case you missed it during the '07 holiday blitz (as so many did), Nintendo and Capcom have made available a Flash demo of one of the early levels to give you a taste of the game's greatness. Have fun!
The PS2 port and highly anticipated Okami has been pushed back from its previously announced March 25th release date to April 15th.
Gamespot, the breakers of this news, provides no reason for the delay, beyond a guess that the game's developers (Ready at Dawn) wanted to reallocate its resources to God of War: Chains of Olympus. My only problem with that theory is that GoW: CoO hits stores today. Ready at Dawn's work is done, right? Perhaps the team just wanted a well-deserved break.
No matter what the reason, there's not much difference between March 25th and April 15th, particularly when we'll all have Super Smash Brothers Brawl to entertain us in the interim.
For those who haven't seen the Wii version in play, this little video is worth a look:
The game is expected to be released in September, just four months (give or take) after LEGO Indiana Jones, which means it will be a HUGE year for LucasArts and traveller's tales. Oh, it will also be a HUGE year for the millions of gamers (myself included), who love the LEGO games.
For more LEGO Batman info, check out the latest article from MTV Multiplayer, which broke the news that we'll be able to play as both Batman hero and Batman villian. Mwahahahahaha!
With Super Smash Brothers Brawl less than a week away, the people at Gaming Today asks Nintendo to bring back its quirky commercials of the N64 generation.
Watching this Super Smash Brothers commercial of yore, I can't help but want to join the movement.
At the Game Developers Conference, Nintendo spokesman Takashi Aoyama revealed that there are plans to begin charging for online play and downloadable (add-on) content.
Gamers will use the familiar Wii Points to pay for play and, from what I can surmise, it seems the charges will be per game, not a blanket online charge as is the case with Xbox Live.
I could see them launching this in a week when Super Smash Bros. Brawl debuts. As if they're not making enough money.
It's Monday, well, Tuesday, which is kind of like Monday due to the president's holiday, which means that there are new games for download on the Wii.

Sure, Japanese gamers got Super Smash Bros. Brawl about a month before we'll get it, but those who didn't take care of their Wiis are having some issues.
The problem lies in the fact that SSBB is the first Wii game to be printed on a dual-layer DVD which requires a more delicate touch from ye olde laser. Dust or smoke build-up is causing the laser to have lost that loving feeling.
Nintendo has offered to clean the dirty Wiis, free of charge, and are even covering shipping costs.
We'll see what happens when the discs hit the States and Europe. I can see the YouTube home fix-its now.
