Conker's Bad Fur Day

Review:
There was a time when N64's video games were innocent. With the release of "Conker's Bad Fur Day", that time has passed. Over the past 4 days we have been ignoring our phones and our internal clocks. We've played this game for 27 hours, and, we're proud to say, we can now move it to our "done" pile. *head falls, goes to sleep at computer*

Rareware, a usually tame producer, had some fun with this one. Despite Conker's kiddie cartoon quality, he is a raging alcoholic (occasionally fending enemies off with streams of urine) and a potty mouth. The irony of a "Mature" rating, of course, hitting you, when you are alternately pelting sweet corn and toilet paper at a "Giant Singing Poo". The storyline spoofs many famous movies including "Resevoir Dogs," "Saving Private Ryan," and our fave, "The Matrix." In a wonderfully lampooned bit, Conker reenacts the "Lobby Shooting Spree" scene as he enters into slow motion, dodging rippling bullets while jumping around black marble walls.

Multi-play is among the best we've seen and includes such games as racing, 5 different death matches, heist (you have to steal money), beach (storm the beach ala Saving Pvt. Ryan), and tank (you guessed, it 4 player tank battle). We debated whether to rent or buy this game and chose to buy. We're happy we have it, but you can complete this game in one 5 day rental period. So, if your goal is just to beat it, you might as well rent. But, if you want all the multi-player games and a game with good replay value, it's worth it.

We really didn't have it in us at the time to make an entire subsite for Conker's. So, we took the lazy way out. Whee! We simply made a forum on our message boards called, go figure, Conker's Bad Fur Day. This forum should have most everything you need.
