5. Bonus Missions

Death Star Rescue - Bonus Mission (10 Points)

Access the security elevator.
You are a disguised Storm Trooper. Han and Chewy are with you. You will have to kill three Storm Troopers right at the beginning. One comes from a room on the left, there is Health in there. Follow the radar and when you get to the elevators, kill the Storm Troopers that come out. Far left elevator first, then right elevator, left elevator, then middle elevator. When you see the Orange Marker go in.

Defeat the enemies in the detention center.
Just shoot all of the enemies that come into the control area. They come in from middle, top, bottom. Middle, top, bottom.

Locate Princess Leia.
When no more enemies are coming at you, go through the tunnel/door at the back of the control room and shoot guys as you go following your radar. Just go down the hallway and you'll get a C-Stick Icon for each door you come to. Open them up and search each room. The first C-Stick Icon down, if you will, is a room with Health. The second one down has Leia.

Escape the detention area.
Run back toward the control room. Right before the control room you'll see an Orange Marker. Leia will blow a hole in the wall (or you can do it) and you'll jump down into the garbage pit.

Find the Millennium Falcon and escape.
Han and Chewy will go one way. You and Leia are going to have to find another way. Follow the radar. You'll get to the famous "swing over the gap with Leia" scene. First, shoot the Storm Troopers that pop in from the 3 various doors. Then, when you get the C-Stick Icon, move your C-Stick to get a green target. Slowly pull the target up so that it is over one of the pipes hanging down. When you get it right, you'll get the A-Button Icon. Push the A-Button to swing across.

Continue to follow your radar, shooting enemies as you go. Soon, you'll see Darth Vadar take out Obi-Wan. *cries* Kill the Storm Troopers and then you'll see an Orange Marker in front of theMillenniumm Falcon. Step into it.

If you haven't read the "Gold Medal Strategies" section in the Introduction, do so. My biggest problem here was dying, kills, and time. Yup, pretty much everything. This one really frustrated me and I probably played it about 20 times before I got the Gold. The general advice is to get to know where every Storm Trooper is located and where he comes from. The following are specific tips. In the first part when you get to the elevators, the far left elevator, the first one to open, has a Health inside. In the next objective, in the Detention Center, there are 5 speakers and/or cameras that you can shoot out for kills. This is very useful. It's a little glitchy when you try to target them but be persistent and use the L-Trigger. Other than that and the above walkthrough for this level, there's really no more advice other than to keep at it. Sometimes it's best to move onto another one and come back to it later. I ended up with a 3:12 time, 56 kills, and a 51% accuracy.

Escape from Hoth - Bonus Mission (20 Points)

To get to this Bonus Mission, scroll to the left from Battlefield Hoth.

Escort Princess Leia to her command ship.
You are Han Solo. Leia is with you. Run through the halls watching your radar to tell you where to go. Shoot anyone that gets in your way. When you get to the Tripod Turret Gun use it until you kill off all of the Storm Troopers coming your way. Keep going. You'll get a cut scene and you'll have to get Leia to the Millennium Falcon.

Reach the Millennium Falcon
After the cut scene, continue on and pick up the Health. Don't worry about the next Tripod Turret Gun that you reach. There's no use for it. However, when you reach it, go left. Continue on and you'll get a cut scene of the bridges being destroyed. Go out onto the bridge and jump to the bridge to your right. Then, jump to the next bridge to your right/in front of you. Continue on. Soon, you'll get to the Millennium Falcon.

Now, you are manning the under-gun on the Falcon. Don't let too many Snowtroopers past or you'll fail the mission. I let 4 by and I was OK. It's kinda hard as there is not reticle (target) to use, but, do your best.

Disable the damaged Star Destroyer and escape.
You are now piloting the Millennium Falcon. You can use your C-Stick to operate the gun on top of the ship to kill TIEs that are behind you. Otherwise, you have some missiles and some regular laser fire. You're goal here is to fly to the Star Destroyer that your radar is pointing to. See the gray globe thing on top of the ship (it looks like a small Epcot Center)? Well, one of them is on fire and has already been destroyed. Destroy the one that is still in tact. This is a shield generator. Once you blow that one up, fly underneath the Star Destroyer and you'll see a half-globe sticking out of the bottom. Lay into it with everything you got! This is the other shield generator. Now that the shields are down you can attack the main bridge (command center). The part that you want to attack is the little white/bright part sticking out of the main control tower. If you click on the B-Button to bring up your homing target, it'll target it. That's what you want to blow up. You can get if from the front of the Star Destroyer.

Gold Medal Strategies

First, the on foot part, don't use any Tripod Turret Guns. They'll only slow you down. Next, I know it's scary, but don't dawdle when it comes time to jump across the broken bridges. Just do it. Don't think about it. If you fall, eh, you have to start over. I did that several times. But, it saves time to do it fast. When it comes to the flying part, well, you just have to get good at quickly destroying the two generators and then the command center. You should be able to destroy each one in one pass if you lay into it with your missiles and lasers together. I ended this one in 5:05 with 73 kills and 40% accuracy.

Flight from Bespin - Bonus Mission (20 Points)

To get to this Bonus Mission, scroll to the right from Deception at Destrillion.

Intercept Boba Fett before he can leave the city.
You are now Leia. Go up to the Orange Marker and hit your D-Pad (Command Cross). R2D2 will open the door. Now, you're chasing after Boba Fett. You really can't hit him, but, kill all of the Storm Troopers you encounter. Eventually, you'll reach a door with the same Orange Marker and Command Cross. R2D2 will come and open the door but you may have to wait a few seconds for him to come. Once the door is open go out and you'll get a cut scene of Boba leaving.

Locate the Millennium Falcon, and escape.
Turn around and follow your radar. You'll get to another Orange Marker. Do your thing and R2 will do his. Run up to the Millennium Falcon.

Eliminate the TIE Fighter patrols.
Just some good ol' flying and shooting. Use your homing missiles if you want. These TIEs are pretty easy. Once they're all gone it's time to rescue Luke.

Locate and rescue Luke Skywalker.
Follow your radar. You'll see an Orange Marker. Fly slowly into it. Done.

Fly to the escape point.
Just follow your radar and haul butt.

Without really trying, I got a Best Ever on this one on my first try. Neato. Anyway, my only advice is be fast. And, when you first are in the Millennium Falcon and you have to destroy all of the TIEs, do it quickly and use as many homing missiles as you can. My stats for this one are 4:49, 53 enemies killed, and 9% accuracy.

Attack on the Executor - Bonus Mission (30 Points)

Your default ship is the A-Wing. You have to lead the assault on the Executor, the flagship of the Imperial fleet.

Destroy the ION cannons threatening the Calamari Cruiser.
When you begin the level you'll see a Star Destroyer in front of you and to the right just a tad. You need to take out the ION cannon on the side facing the Cruiser that you're trying to protect (the right side cannons if you were in the Star Destroyer looking toward the angled front of the Star Destroyer). Destroy the 4 cannons with a combo of Concussion Missiles followed by lasers. Then, fly to the next Star Destroyer on the left. Take out the cannons facing the ship. Then, fly to the next Star Destroyer. On this one you have to take out the cannons on both sides of it. When that is done, just fly around killing TIE Fighters until the Cruiser gets through.

Destroy the Executor's command deck.
Now, you have to fly low over the surface of the ship. Avoid and destroy the laser cannons firing at you. When you get to the large control tower fly toward the top of it and hold down your B-Button. There is a little half-circle balcony hanging off of the large tower. That is what you need to target. Lay into it with missiles and laser fire. You'll get a cut scene of your ship crashing into the control center. Don't worry. That means you have completed the mission. Also, after furtherexperimentationn, if you fly full speed, directly into the top of the control tower, the mission should end as well. You don't necessarily have to target it. Just fly into the top part of it.

Gold Medal Strategies

If you haven't read the "Gold Medal Strategies" section in the Introduction, do so. This one is all about the Jedi Starfighter. It's useless to even try this one without it. You can easily take out the sets of ION Cannons using your Sonic Mines. Then, shoot down TIEs until you get the cut scene. Then, attacking the Executor itself, well, just go fairly fast. Take out any turret cannons that you can but just get to the control tower and fly right into it. Not too difficult. I finished in 4:47 with 75 kills and a 45% accuracy.

Rebel Endurance - Bonus Mission (30 Points)

Fight your way through waves of enemies.

Destroy all Imperials. OK, this isn't that tough. First, there are 52 waves of attackers. Second, you earn lives as you go along, therefore the whole 7 Lives thing. The basic gist here is to take cover behind either of the left side or right side stack of boxes or barrels. If you stay behind either one you can fire over them but you won't take as much damage. There is mucho Health and Ammo around. The strategy is to kill off almost everybody, except for one dude, grab all the Health you can, take a defensive position, kill the last guy and when the next wave starts you are in a good position with full health. Try not to get caught out in the open. So, basically, it's a lot of running back and forth and grabbing Health when you see that you are low.

Do what I say in the walkthrough for this level and you should be fine. I ended it with a completion time of 21:22, 449 kills, 53% accuracy, 52 waves completed and 6 lives lost. Good enough for Gold!
