This is truly going to be a "Quick Review", as spending another second thinking about this game may, very well, kill me. This is odd considering I started off loving "The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords Adventures". It was "new" with its GBA connectivity and interaction, yet the 2-D aspect of it gave it a very "retro" feel. It introduced a new way to play a Zelda game (with four on-screen characters, controlled by one to four players), yet, it had the familiarity of a much beloved Zelda game. Also, while I never played it multi-player, various reports from other sites, as well as those from people on our message board, are all positive...which could explain what went wrong with my "Zelda" experience.

"The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords Adventures" is, perhaps, the most repetitive game I have ever experienced. Yes, each of the 8 levels (each broken into 3 sub-levels) have different puzzles to solve, but after about level 3, you have gotten all you are going to get out of the game. You constantly battle the same characters. The fact that your Force Gem count (think Rupees which give you experience points) and the number of Heart Containers you collect are reset at every level (and sub-level) takes something away from the normal Zelda experience. The fact that you can only carry one weapon beyond your sword, and that weapon can only be leveled up once (and it's rare when that even happens), also takes away from the normal Zelda experience. Boss battles were ridiculously simple, and Force Fairies (fairies who bring you back to life) were so abundant, dying becomes a challenge. Point being, if you're playing this game alone, you will enjoy it, but you will get sick of it. If you are playing with your friends, well, there's potential for greater enjoyment, but your friends are going to have to be incredibly entertaining for you not to eventually become bored, too. Sorry Nintendo, but worst Zelda game ever (but it is still a Zelda game, so it can't be horrible).
