The Leged of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest Review
You have a tough battle upon immediate entry. Take out the two Green Bubbles, the Iron Knuckle, and the two statues to raise the bars to the next room.
You are now in a big central room with lots of color beams going into the center structure. There are 6 colored doors around the edge of the room, one for each medallion. Before you do anything, jump off the platform you're on, to the level below. Put on your LENS OF TRUTH and note the room behind the wall. In here you will find fairies and Deku Scrubs who you can buy items from. Keep this place in mind as it will save you along the way.
GREEN DOOR - FOREST SECTION:
Head to the green door, to the right of the entrance to this room. Fight the two Stalfos.
Longshot up to the torch above the door and grab the key. If the fan is bugging you, put on your IRON BOOTS. Drop down and go through the door.
There are 4 Beamos and an exploding statue in this room. There are 4 fans; one in each corner of the room. There is also a gray/blue block on the ceiling of the room. Look across from you to the exploding statue near the Beamos. Shoot 2 arrows at the statue and it'll take out the Beamos. Directly to the left of you is a fan. Put on your HOVER BOOTS and let the fan blow you over to the platform where the Beamos and statue just were. Next, take out the Beamos. Facing where you entered, go to the left and look at the fan to the left of the door you entered. Shoot the Yellow Eye Switch to drop a treasure chest. Hookshot up to get a bundle of arrows. Now, go back over to the first platform that had the Beamos and the statue again. Look at the fan on the other side of the room. Shoot a FIRE ARROW at the frozen Yellow Eye Switch. This will drop a treasure chest with bombs. Go over to the doorway on the other side from where you entered and take out the last Beamos. Go up on that column and play the Song of Time twice to raise the bars on the door. Go through.
You see the core of the green beam here. Aim a LIGHT ARROW at the red core and it'll break the green beam. You are now back in the central colored beam room. Go up to the Red Room.
ORANGE DOOR - SPIRIT SECTION:
Kill the Bats and the Torch Slug. Shoot the closed eye above the door with an arrow. This will reveal an Iron Knuckle. As you fight him, you're going to need to make him swing at the center structure to reveal a switch. Hit the switch with the HAMMER. Go through the door. There is a Green Bubble to kill. Go to the treasure chest and get the Bombchus. Through the iron gate, there is a crystal switch. Release a Bombchu through the hole at the top of the iron gate so that it blows up next to the crystal switch. Go through the door. You have 2 Gibdos and 2 Re-Deads to beat. Play the Sun Song and take them out. You are in a room with a lot of sun symbols. Look at the ceiling. Use a Fire Arrow to destroy the web and let in the light. Use your Mirror Shield to deflect the light into the suns. One of the treasure chests that fall will have a SMALL KEY in it. One of the suns will cause a Big Hand to drop down, so watch out. One of the suns will give you a large treasure chest. Inside are the GOLDEN GAUNTLETS. Shine the light on the yellow symbol above the barred door to open the door. Go in and use a Light Arrow on the core of the orange beam. This will break the orange beam and you'll be warped back to the main room.
Now that you have the GOLDEN GUANTLETS, exit and go outside the castle, to the West on your map. Move the huge boulders and then, the huge stone column blocking the way. This is a Great Fairy Fountain. The Fairy will add white outlines to your hearts, thus giving you double defense. Very useful!
YELLOW DOOR - LIGHT SECTION:
Take out the Lizafols and the Torch Slugs. Go through the door. There is a Triforce symbol and a chained door. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the symbol to get a treasure chest with a Recovery Heart. Go through the chained door.
There is a Beamos on top of the structure and a boulder rolling around and around. Bomchu the Beamos and use your Longshot on the ceiling to get where the Beamos was standing. Go through the chained door.
There is a Skulltula here. Use your Lens of Truth to see the ice wall. Hit the right torch with your sword to activate a switch which allows you to go through the passageway. Go in and use a Light Arrow on the red core of the yellow beam. You'll be warped back out to the main room.
RED DOOR - FIRE SECTIONS:
Put on your Goron Tunic and make your way across the moving platforms in the lava. Hookshot up to the Hookshot
point. Start collecting Silver Rupees. You're going to have to lift up the two huge stone pillars, but, that's no
problem, because you have the Golden Gauntlets. It also helps to wear your HOVER BOOTS in this area.
*Please note, it was in this room that I was certain we had a glitched game. There was a Silver Rupee, up very high, across from the Beamos that I couldn't get for the life of me. Then, TheBlob2000 saved me, and informed me that the way to get this rupee is to get to the edge of the platform and face the rupee. When it gets to the top, do two jump attacks, quickly (backflips also work). This will get you the darned Silver Rupee. The rest are fairly obvious. Once you collect them all, a Hookshot point appears near the barred door and the bars on the door across the way will raise up and you can pass through.
Shoot a Light Arrow at the core of the red beam and you'll be warped back out to the main room.
PURPLE DOOR - SHADOW SECTION:
Immediately upon entering you have a Green Bubble to defeat. Wait for the green to subside and shoot him with an arrow.
While you have your arrows out, shoot the Bomb Flower on the platform to your right. This will, both, collect the Silver Rupee and drop a treaure chest onto the left platform if you do it right. You may still have to get the Rupee.
Use your LONGSHOT to make it over to the treasure chest. Inside are some ARROWS.
Put on your LENS OF TRUTH and note the moving platform in the middle of the room. Jump onto it and collect the Silver Rupee. If you didn't get the initial Silver Rupee, you can jump to it from this moving platform. Get back on and face the Beamos.
Jump onto the platform where the Beamos is located, toss a Bomb at him and collect the Silver Rupee. On this platform is a small torch. Light it with Din's Fire. This will create a platform for you so you can jump to the next area with the two Beamos.
Before jumping all the way across, step onto the platform and turn around. Look down to see the Gold Eye switch. Hit it with an arrow and a treasure chest will drop.
Kill the two Beamos and open the treasure chest. Inside is a SMALL KEY.
Put on your LENS OF TRUTH and note the two small ice bridges extending from this platform. Take the one to the Beamos, first.
Kill the Beamos and collect the Silver Rupee. Head back to the other bridge and run across to collect the last Silver Rupee. The barred door will open up. Pass through.
Shoot a Light Arrow at the heart of the purple beam, and you'll be warped to the main room.

BLUE DOOR - WATER SECTION:
Immediately upon entering, you'll have some Freezards to kill and a hand. Taking the hand out with your sword is the key to lowering the water around the Blue Fire so you can collect it.
Clear out all of of the red ice for some goodies, and an entry to the next room. Grab two more bottles of Blue Fire, use your SMALL KEY on the door, and pass through.
In this next room we have some blocks, some bats, some rupees, and some high up red ice. Kill the four bats (there's an invisible one, too), then collect what Rupees you can at this point. Keep in mind, the "pit" in the middle is just a pit, it has a bottom. Grab the rupee inside, then, facing the room from the entrance, push the block in front of you to the wall below the barred door. Climb up, then melt the ice. Jump back down, push the block into a bottomless pit. The block has regenerated. Push into into the pit in the center. Now you can move around the block to your left, using the ice "bumpers" and get it to fit in the area below the small red ice. Climb the block, climb the cliff, melt the ice and grab the Rupee.
Shoot a Light Arrow at the heart of the blue beam, and you'll be warped to the main room. You'll get a cutscene of the barrier on the central structure disintegrating.
Stock up on fairies in the Fairy/Deku Scrub hidden room.
Enter the central structure. Kill off the Fire Bats. Go up the stairs. Go through the door. There are 2 Lizalfos. Kill them and go through the door up the small set of stairs. Go through the door and up the stone stairs and through the door.
There are 2 Stalfos in here along with a boss treasure chest with the BOSS KEY.
Go through the next door and up the stairs and through the door at the top.
There are 2 Iron Knuckles to defeat. Do so. Go through the door and up the stairs and through the Boss Door at the top.
Boss Fight: Ganondorf
You are in a room with a central structure, 2 regular doors (one you came through), and a barred door. The door you just came through can't be opened now. Go through the other door in the room and up the long long staircase. Go through the door at the top.
You'll get a long cutscene.
Ganondorf has an earthquake attack which will knock out the floor surrounding the center column. If you fall down, just climb back up. Put on your Hover Boots and take out your Master Sword. When Ganondorf shoots the yellow ball of energy at you, you have to hit it back with the sword. Play "tennis" with him until you get it to hit him. He'll be stunned. Shoot him with a Light Arrow. He'll fall. Go over to the center column and slash him. If you want, you can switch to your Biggoron's Sword after you shoot your Fire Arrow in order to do a little more damage to him, as opposed to the Master Sword. But, you need your Master Sword to play "tennis" with him.

After you do that process several times, he'll unleash several huge energy attacks. Just run around and avoid them the best you can. Soon, he'll return to his normal yellow energy balls. After a while, you'll get a cutscene of him being defeated. The walls and windows will shatter and Zelda will be released from her pink crystal.
All of sudden...the castle is crumbling. You have 3 Minutes to get out of there. Follow Zelda. When she stops by a barred door, go up next to her and she'll open the bars. As you go down, Zelda will get trapped in a fire. You have to kill the 2 Stalfos to continue. You'll soon escape. Cutscene of the castle falling. But, what's that...the crumbled mass looks a lot like a boss arena.
Walk up to the pile of rubble.
Boss Fight: Ganon
Keep in mind, the pillars and the piles of junk around have goodies in them. Lead Ganon to these stone structures and have him destroy them. Collect the good stuff. One of the stone structures has Fairies in it. Equip your bottles and collect as many as you can.
Your Master Sword is taken away. Equip your Biggoron's Sword (or use arrows if you don't have one) to go after his tail. Roll through his legs, or, target him and when he swings, do a backflip, then quickly run around to the back of him while he slashes from the other side. Either way, whack away at his tail. After you get him to collapse, you'll get your Master Sword back. You now have to run directly at him, do a roll through his legs, and quickly slash his tail.
When you've finally toasted Ganon, Zelda will tell you to deliver the final blow and you and Zelda are free to live happily ever after. Until Ganon kidnaps her again, that is. Until then, let the good times roll and congrats.
