Forest Haven
  • Before we actually made it to the Forest Haven, we did head back to Windfall Island to start the windmill and learn the Song of Passing. Neither is required here, but it doesn't hurt to get these things. Check out our Windfall Sidequest Guide
  • Head to the flashing segment on your map. As you near it, you'll be pulled in.
  • There is a Great Deku Tree here. Ahhh. I feel at home. You're on the hunt for Farore's Pearl.
  • You are let off right by a mailbox.
  • You will see Beedle's Shop Ship. Hop inside and buy the BAIT BAG. You can now bait Rats and Fish. You may as well buy some bait while your there. There is also a HYOI PEAR. It is a special bait for Seagulls. Seagulls are needed to fly you places.
  • Climb up the ledges. Kill the Boko Baba (plant thing) and you'll get a BOKO BABA SEED. It contains magic and is placed in your SPOILS BAG.
  • Continue up the path. Facing the waterfall, look up for the Grapple Point. Swing across to a platform. Use your shield on the Octorocks to deflect his shot back at him.
  • Continue to work your way upstream jumping from safe grassy area to safe grassy area.
  • You'll reach a point where you can only Grapple. Look up for the Grapple Point and swing to the calm pool of water. Go through the cave entrance on the right.
  • Go upstream, climbing each little waterfall. You'll soon run into the Great Deku Tree. He has Chuchus all over him!! You'll get a PIRATE'S CHARM call. It tells you to "jolt" the creatures off the face of the Great Deku Tree. Do a roll attack into the Deku Tree which will knock the Chuchus off. Attack and kill them.
  • The Great Deku Tree will talk to you. He tells the children of the forest, the Koroks, that you are cool and they should be nice to you. The cute little Koroks come fluttering down...they look like flat Pikmins. Anyway, one Korok tells you that Makar is lost in the Forbidden Woods. The Great Deku Tree tells you that in order to get around you need a parachute/glider thing. He quickly grows a large leaf that you need to get up to.
  • Go left and find the purple and blue Baba Bud. It shoots you into the air. You can control your direction a little bit. You have to navigate a series of them. Work your way up to the tree platform. Talk to the Korok. He tell you a tip of two.
  • From the tree platform, use the Grapple Point to swing to the next Baba Bud. Work your way up again. Let the Bud throw you up in the air a few times to get your alignment down. Jump to the tree platform and grab the DEKU LEAF. It can be used to blow puffs of air at enemies and to drift on currents of air.
  • Equip your DEKU LEAF and jump off of the tree platform toward the ledge below you with the arrow in the shrubbery. As soon as you jump, whip out your DEKU LEAF and it'll become a parachute/glider for you to drift over to the ledge. This is the entrance to the Forbidden Woods.
  • Enter. Go forward and talk to the Korok. He tells you that you can get over to the other island if you make the wind go in the right direction. Whip out your WIND WAKER and make the wind go East.
  • Jump and deploy your DEKU LEAF. Make a beeline to the SouthWest. It's the little pillar rock that you're aiming for. Land on the pillar and the Korok will tell you that you need to catch an updraft to get to the entrance of the Forbidden Woods.
  • Rear back and wait for the spiral cyclone to come by. Jump for it and hope that you catch the updraft. If you don't, just fall into the ocean and try again. If you do catch the updraft, beware the hovering enemies. Avoid them. Fall onto the platform and enter the entrance to Forbidden Woods.
  • Forbidden Woods
  • When you enter, you'll have some Green Chuchus to deal with. They'll give you Green Chu Jelly...used to make magic potions.
  • There is a Treasure Chest in the North East of your map, it contains the DUNGEON MAP. There is also a Warp Cauldron near it. Jump in it to activate it.
  • Pick the large brown plant/seed in the NW of your map and carry it near the door. Throw it at the door to break the seal.
  • Go through the door. You are in a larege indoor cavern with lush green trees, vines, and grass.
  • Fall down to the ground level. There is a Treasure Chest inside the hole in the tree, but, you have to throw something at it to break the vines around it. Once you're done messing around on the ground floor, use the blue/purple Baba Buds to work your way up. You're going to have to use your DEKU LEAF glider to get to some of the Baba Buds as you go up. You're working your way to the Northern door of the map.
  • There is a BOMB FLOWER on the platform right before the North door. Pick it and chuck it at the door to break the seal. Go through.
  • There is a Gondola that crosses the chasm in order to get to the other side. On the South West of the map, there is a little set of 4 leaves that power the Gondola. Use your DEKU LEAF to shoot a waft of air over toward it. It will cause the Gondola to come to you. While on the Gondola, keep shooting air at the set of leaves to make your way across. Go through the door.
  • There will be several Peahats for to kill. They are the little helicopter things floating around. Blow a waft of air at them with your DEKU LEAF to get them to drop, then, attack them. There will also be some Deku Plants for you to kill. Use the Baba Buds to get up to the area above the South door (where you came in). From here, you'll see a Gondola. Get it over to you, then, use it to get to the area below the North door, using your DEKU LEAF as a glider. There is a Treasure Chest there with a Red Rupee and a couple of pinecone seed things.
  • Work your way back up the South platform, above the door you entered from. There is a small cavern with a boarded entrance. Inside is a brown plant/seed. Grab it and jump onto the Gondola. Use "R" to drop the plant/seed and use your DEKU LEAF to blow yourself across...quickly. Then, pick up the plant/seed and throw it at the North door to break the seal. Go through the door.
  • You are now in a blue-walled cavern. As you approach the plant/seed in the middle, which you need to get through the next door, you'll notice that huge mean vines pop out of the ground to protect it. Use your DEKU LEAF to blow a waft of air at the Boko Nut. This will cause it to move away from the mean vines. Pick it up and use it on the door you need to get through. Go through the door.
  • You are now in an area with a central structure, a Korok House (the flat little Pikmin-like dudes). Go to your right and use the GRAPPLING HOOK to swing across. Then, use the moving plant platforms to get over to the North side of the map. Go into the central structure and collect some rupees. You'll see a Boko Nut and a locked door. Grab the Boko Nut and hop over to the West door and break the seal on it. Go through the door.
  • You are in a narrow passage way. There are many Stickies around. They will attach to you. If they do, use your Spin Attack to get rid of them. Drop down and open the Treasure Chest for a Yellow Rupee. Continue forward and go through the door.
  • You are now in an area with some Baba Buds (purple/blue things that shoot you up). As you walk, you'll notice that some mean vines come out of the ground, blocking your way. There is also a BOMB FLOWER. Grab it and use it to blow open the boarded door on the South of the map. Inside is a Treasure Chest with the COMPASS.
  • Go back to the door you came in and navigate through the vines that pop out until you get to the SW boarded-up area. You can't get through this door right now, but, there is a Baba Bud right near you. Jump into it and work your way up, using your DEKU LEAF glider when needed. There's some jars up there with some hearts, magic, and a Joy Pendant.
  • Anyway, go back to the South and grab the BOMB FLOWER. Use it to open up the SW boarded-up area that you couldn't break through before. You have to give it a good chuck. Work your way back to that boarded-up door you just blew up and open the Treasure Chest for a SMALL KEY. Exit back out.
  • Go back through the passageway and deal with the Stickies again. You are now back in the area with the central structure, the Korok House.
  • Work your back to the door that is locked...it's the North door. Open it and go through.
  • You are now in an area with a Gondola and 2 Peahats. Take out the Peahats as you go across on the Gondola and make your way across to the North Door.
  • You are now in a room with various enemies...Deku Plant, Peahat, big bug. Take out all the enemies. There are also hanging pinecone things and 4 Baba Buds. Use the Baba Buds to make your way up. There is a door on the North (open) and one on the South, which you need Boko Nuts to open. Go through the door on the North.
  • You'll be locked in and you'll have to fight a huge evil butterfly. The butterfly shoots Stickies out of his rear, so be ready. As you attack the butterfly, you'll eventually knock his wings off and then, defeat him. You'll get a goodie ball. Break it open to reveal a GOLDEN FEATHER and some other stuff. Approach the Treasure Chest to get the BOOMERANG. You can't leave yet, as the door is still blocked. Target the two white switches above the door with your BOOMERANG to open the door. Exit out.
  • Using the BOOMERANG, break open the seal on the South door, go through.
  • You have lots of hanging nuts infront of you. Use your BOOMERANG to cut them down. Get a running start and jump and deploy your DEKU LEAF glider to advance across the gap and land on the other side. Open the Treasure Chest to reveal a Joy Pendant. Oh joy! Go through the door.
  • You are now in the Korok House area again. Use your BOOMERANG to target the 5 support cables which are supporting the Korok House. Fire your BOOMERANG at them and it'll drop the Korok House and cause a large hole in the ground to be opened up. Jump down to the ground level of that room (it's actually 2F on your map). There is an Eastern door there which you can use your BOOMERANG to open. Do so.
  • You'll be locked in by vines and you'll have to fight two bugs. A Treasure Chest will appear. Open it for a Joy Pendant. Boo! Go through the next door.
  • This is the BOSS DOOR room. There is Warp Cauldron here. Break the wooden cover off of it to activate it. You now have a good warp point in case you die. That's it for here right now, as we need the BOSS KEY to continue. Exit back out to the Korok House room.
  • Drop through the large hole in the ground. You are now on B1. Go through the door.
  • There are some Peahats and Stickies to deal with. The Stickies are on platforms. You can go either right or left at this juncture. However, the leftside is a high wall that you can't get over. So, take the right path.
  • Take out the Green Chuchus and the Hand Grabber things. Go through the door.
  • You now have a flower platform in front of you and some stuff below you. Jump onto the flower platform and go across to the Treasure Chest for a Yellow Rupee. Use your BOOMERANG to drop the flower platform. Drop down. Grab the BOMB FLOWER and run it over to the boarded up Northern door. Go through the door.
  • There are several Peahats and Deku Plants to kill. Do so, then, go up to the hut in the middle of the area. On the backside of it there is a crawl hole to get into the middle of the hut, but, you can't do anything with that right now.
  • Work your way up to the Boko Baba in the NW and kill it. It'll make a Baba Bud. Use it to get up to the next platform. You'll see a Gondola. Use it to go across to the BOMB FLOWER on the other side. Grab the bomb and toss it into the central hut. This will break the seal on the Treasure Chest. Go into the hut and grab a TREASURE CHART from the Treasure Chest. Exit out the door you came in.
  • Knock the flower platform down again and take care of the Octorock. Jump onto it and use your DEKU LEAF to power the flower platform that you are on. Take care of 2 more Octorocks and you'll soon make your way to the other side. Jump off and onto the grassy area. There are some Green Chuchus and lots of hand grabber things. Go through the door.
  • You are now locked into this room. Take the ramp around to the top of the middle structure. Using your BOOMERANG, target all 5 white switches and let 'er rip. This will open the door into the middle structure. Open the Treasure Chest for the BIG KEY. Right away, some Moblins will drop. Kill them to open the door above. Go back up to the top of the middle structure and use your GRAPPLING HOOK to reach the door above you. Go through. This is the area with the wall we couldn't get up before...the fork in the road, if you will. You have now made a circle. Go through the door.
  • You are now back in the room with the fallen Korok House. Use your DEKU LEAF to blow wind at the propeller leafs to make a cyclone. Use the Baba Bud to launch yourself then deploy your DEKU LEAF glider to get back up to 2F, the floor with the Boss Door room. Go through the East door and proceed to the Boss Door.
  • Go through the BOSS DOOR.
  • BOSS FIGHT - PLANT POD
Equip your BOOMERANG and aim for his tenticles on the ceiling. When they are all severed, he will drop and open up. Run up to the middle and slash the little plant as much as you can. The plant will then spit you out. Repeat this process until he's dead. Around the edge of this area, there are shrubs with health in them. Use them as necessary.
  • Talk to Makar, the Korok who you were trying to save this whole time. He thanks you. Grab the PIECE OF HEART and walk into the wind. You'll be whisked back to the Great Deku Tree.
  • The Great Deku Tree will give you FARORE'S PEARL. Yay! You will also get to watch the Korok Ceremony. It's like a combination of Ewoks, Pikmin, and Hobbits, all set to a Celtic beat. Sweet!
  • Look out third PEARL, here we come!
