Forsaken Fortress
So, that looked painful. You're dropped in water. You swim over and you're shown your sword above you, and you're told you have a crazy stone, or a PIRATE'S CHARM, which can be used to talk to Miss Tetra.
Head up the stairs. Grab a barrel in front of you. You'll notice this is a different kind of barrel. You can place it on top of you so you aren't noticed.
Practice this stealthy technique by collecting the Rupees above which are guarded by the spotlights.
Get caught to see what happens. You'll be put in a cell. Jump on top of the bookcase and break the vase to reveal a tunnel.
Crawl through it and you're on the other side of your cell.
Go down the pathway and drop down into the room below and you'll see that there is a switch hidden behind some barrels. Step on it to open the jail cell behind you. Enter and
open the Treasure Chest for a PIECE OF THE HEART. Get caught again, so that you're back in your jail cell, just for a common
reference point. Escape again.
Work your way down the path and you'll see a Treasure Chest. Open it up to reveal the DUNGEON MAP.
Use the rope to swing over to the other ledge. Enter the door to your left and go out on the balcony. Here you will get
a call from the PIRATE'S CHARM. Hit "A" and you'll be told by Tetra that a monster is controlling the spotlight.
She tells you to use your sheild to deflect his attacks and maybe he'll drop his weapon.
There is a ladder behind you on this balcony. Go up the ladder. "L" target the monster and use your shield
to deflect his attack. He'll drop his weapon. Pick it up and take care of him. This is the first
of 3 spotlights that you have to take out. One down, two to go.
Go back down the ladder and back through the door you came from (the room with the Dungeon Map Treasure
Chest on the other side). Go through the door on the same side of the room you are on.
Go to the leftside balcony
and go up the path (this is where the stairs lead if you hadn't gotten caught down below in the Rupee area).
So, go up the path and go up the ladder. You are now near your second spotlight. "L" target the bad guy
and use your shield so that he drops his weapon. Pick it up and kill the bad guy. This takes care of the second
spotlight.
Go back down the ladder and back to the hallway you were in before. Go through the door you haven't
gone through yet on the far side. There will be a Treasure Chest on your right. Open it to reveal
a COMPASS.
Swing across to the other side and go through the door. You are in another hallway. Go to the leftside
balcony and up the path. Go up the ladder and take out the third spotlight. Go back down and back into
the hallway and go through the door you haven't been through yet.
Swing across and go through the door. You are in another hallway. On the leftside balcony, there is a crate
that you can push so that the ladder below is accessible if you want to climb back up. Push the crate
over the edge so that if you ever find yourself down there, you can easily get back up using this ladder.
Anyway, continue forward and move through the door. Here are some bad guys (Moblins) and a door you need to reach.
You can't fight
the Moblins now, so get yourself in the barrel
in front of you and sneak by them. Whetever you do, don't let them see you move. If you move slowly, you'll get a warning if
they're about to see you.
Work your way up the path to the door you were shown in your barrel. Go through the door and move up the steps.
At the top of the stairs you're given another barrel to hide yourself in. Use it to get by the Moblin.
Continue to work your way up the path. Eventually you'll get to a ladder down. Take it.
There is another ladder down in front of you with a crate next to it. Push the crate over the edge so that you can
get back up this ladder if you need to (across the way is the third spotlight that we knocked out).
Anyway, go back up the ladder and "sidle" along the thin ledge along the wall. Sidle again across
the small ledge with the Hearts.
Go up the stairs. There is a door and a guard in front of it. Your SWORD is in front of you as well.
Grab your sword and fight the guard.
Go through the now opened door. You'll see your sister. The big bird will dome down and pick you up and
you'll be tossed into the ocean. All that work for nothing! ARGH!
You are told to wake up. When you do, you find your boat talking to you. OK then. This is the King of Red Lions. He tells you
who the shadowed man was. Ready for this? It was Ganon!!! Dun dun dun. He goes on to tell you that he is your guide on your journey of toil and hardship.
He explains, however, that he doesn't have a sail. It is your job to find him a sail on Windfall Island. Luckily, he has dropped you off there.
