Acquiring the ICE/FIRE ARROWS, POWER BRACELETS and IRON BOOTS
At this point, there are a few things that we need to do in order to get the POWER BRACELETS that we need to
move the big stone statue heads that are blocking the way to the Earth Temple.
WARP POINTS - When you encounter a large cyclone and you're sucked into it, you'll
see Cyclos appear. He's the purple frog guy. Shoot ARROWS at him and hit him 3 times while you're spinning around him
and he'll teach you the Ballad of Gales. It's Down, Right, Left, Up. The song allows you to warp to many different islands.
This saves you a ton of time. It is also the only way to get to the island where the FIRE AND ICE ARROWS are located.
FIRE AND ICE ARROWS: You need these arrows to get any further. Warp to the island one quadrant South and one
quadrant East of Forsaken Fortress. You'll land in a little enclave/pond area. A scary, ghostly, little girl
will grant you the power of Fire and Ice for your Arrows.
POWER BRACELETS: Now that we have FIRE AND ICE ARROWS, we can go get the POWER BRACELETS on
Volcano Island. It is located one quadrant South of Dragon Roost Island. While still on the ship,
shoot an ICE ARROW at the spewing lava at the top. You have a 5 Minute Timer. Quickly get onto
the island and start climbing up and around, up and around. At one point, you'll have to Sidle.
When you get to the top, drop in.
Hop across the platforms in the lava. Kill the 2 centipedes and a Treasure Chest will be reveal
with the POWER BRACELETS inside. You can now move those huge stone statue heads covering
up shards of the Triforce.
Lift the stone statue head right near you and exit this island. Get back on your boat.
IRON BOOTS: Warp to Forest Haven. Sail one quadrant west. In the middle of the quadrant you'll find Ice Ring Isle. Pull out your FIRE ARROWS and shoot it at the icy head in the middle. You have five minutes.
Swim up to the small island and work your way into the central area. Jump from iceberg to iceberg to the stone head in the middle. Walk into the mouth and drop down.
Kill the bats with your BOOMERANG. Cross the icy bridge in the middle. Slide down the ice slide to the platform. Open the Treasure Chest. Inside are the IRON BOOTS.
Equip them and walk into the blowing wind. At the source of the wind there's a hole in the ground. Drop down.
Melt the ice on your enemies and then kill them. Once you've done so, a Treasure Chest will appear. Inside of it is an Orange Rupee (100).
Walk into the light to get out.
On the east side of the island find the Treasure Chest, melt the ice around it, and, you'll find TREASURE CHART #36.
Get back into your boat and warp to Outset Island. Stop on the Island and check the mail. You have 2 letters waiting. One will cost
you 201 Rupees to open. Do so. This is the IN-CREDIBLE CHART. This will tell you where to find
the Triforce Charts. Open it up and give it a look. Interesting.
Go up to the broken suspension bridge and climb up on the rock. Change the wind direction with your WIND WAKER
so that it's behind you and use your DEKU LEAF to glide across.
Go through the cave entrance.
Go forward and jump up the ledges. Read the sign. It says, "Fairy Fountain Site." This place
is otherwise known as Fountain of the Fortune Goddess. BOMB the rock. Drop down. The Fairy will give you
a larger WALLET. Wow! Step into the light beam and exit.
Fight the 2 Moblins and deal with the Stickies. Exit and drop back down to the town.
The Way to the Earth Temple
Now get back in your boat and sail one quadrant east. It's flashing. Bait the quadrant and see it's named Headstone Island. Head to Headstone Island.
Approach the Headstone. Now that you have your POWER BRACELET, you can lift it. Do so and enter. Here is a song for you to
learn: Down, Down, Neutral, Right, Left, Neutral. This is the Earth God's Lyric. Playing the song will make Laruto appear. She speaks of someone in her bloodline who carries a sacred instrument. The door she is standing in front of will only open when the sage plays this song. Who could the sage be? Hmmmm...
Laruto's bloodline...must be a Ruto. Before heading to Dragon Roost, head one quadrant east and fight the Big Octo. Kill him and a fairy will grant you a power. For us it was a a MAGIC INCREASE.
Now, warp to Dragon Roost Island.
On the side of Dragon Roost Island there is a rock that you can BOMB. Go into the cavern. There is a big room with a bunch of doors. Go through a door,
fight the enemies, and a flame will light above the door. You're trying to get all the flames lit. When the 4 doors
have flames above them, the bars on the locked door will raise. Enter and open the Treasure Chest for
a Purple Rupee. Exit.
Go onto Dragon Roost Island itself and find the sign with the arrow pointing up...you've seen it before. Use your ARROWS
to hit the line of Bombs that are on the wall. This breaks the rock and you'll get a Silver Rupee (200).
Now, work your way uo and around the island and go outside. GRAPPLE across the gap and go up the
ladder. Approach Medli. She is playing a Harp. Pull out your WIND WAKER. Play for her the Earth God's Lyric. Medli passes out and become "sageisized".
She is the Sage of the Earth Temple. You must take her there.
Warp to Outset Island and go one quadrant East...back to the flashing area...Headstone Island.
You are automatically pulled in and dropped off on Headstone Island.
Enter the cavern and play the Earth God's Lyric in front of the stone door. Medli will play along.
Enter the Earth Temple.
