Quick Review
Thumbs Up from Jer Thumbs Up from Ali

In the strain of Tony Hawk and SSX, this follow-up to Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX really kicks some ass. Gameplay is smooth and intuitive for the most part, and we were able to pick it up with very little learning curve. You can choose from 12 different riders, then attempt to get them sponsors by doing tasks and getting "respect" points. The task items glow, so you don't spend hours (like in Tony Hawk) trying to figure out where to go and what to do. There are several difficulities of tasks on each level, so you get to return and try harder tasks and tricks. There's also multiplayer to keep your friends entertained...if they can ever get there hands on it! Definite buyer!

P.S. Check out the track editor!!

Guide/Sticking Points
What is a "Flair"?
A flair is a 180 Backflip.
Woodward Camp
Insane Challenge - Grind any four glowing flood lights
First off, wait until you have at least the 2nd bike upgrade. Basically, you can get the two on each end pretty easy. Then there's the one that's right above you that you can grind easily by going up the quarter pipe. The fourth one is the real pain. I use the inside garage/hangar area. I go back and forth on the quarter pipes until I get up to about 40-45ft. Then, I come screaming out. Hit the quarter pipe outside, then use the ramp to try to jump onto the floodlamp in front of you. This one takes about 9,000 tries.
Trainyards
Insane Challenge - Transfer between the two bulldozers
Once you find the two bulldozers, you'll see that you can use the right or left one. Use the right one, because it has the dirt hill right before the bulldozer. Just ride as fast as you can along the right side, go up and down the dirt hill, and throw yourself as hard as you can across the gap and onto the other bulldozer.
Swamp Trails
Hardcore Challenge - Pull four modified supermans on the upper eight-pack
Ya, you all think that you can just do a Superman, then modify it and you should get the challenge. Well after 3 hours trying, I decided that it doesn't work. You have to think of this as one continuous trick. So, instead of doing a Superman, then entering a modifier, you have to do it all in one. I recommend using the control pad, rather than the analog stick, as it makes it easier to definitely enter the trick you want. You just sort of have to make sure that you don't lift up your thumbs, and instead, let them roll or slide over to do the modified superman the way they want it done.
Insane Challenge - Grind all the way from the garage to the bird refugee island
You have to start at the bottom of the wire, on the island. Get some speed and jump onto the wire. Then do your hop-grind-hop-grind thingy really quickly. This will propel you up the wire and onto the roof. Then, once you're on the roof, just grind all the way back down.
Commercial District
Hardcore Challenge - Break all four of the upper level plaza awnings
Like the pro-challenge, now you have to break the glass awnings that are even higher up. You just have to get in a groove and fly up there. Really no secret, just lots of rhythm.
Hardcore Challenge - Transfer over the pedestrian overpass
Use the staircase to get some speed then, throw yourself over the overpass as hard as you can. You might benefit from a better bike here.
Galoon Water Park
We didn't have any trouble here.
HWY 47 Cloverleaf
Pro Challenge - Fastplant at the top of the blue column in the skatepark
I find that by using the scaffolding, which begins almost about where you start the level, you can get a good angle on the top of the column and do the fastplant. The scaffolding: From the start, go along the right highway. Stay close to the left edge. Stop every once in while and peer over the edge, down and to the left. Pretty soon, you'll see some wooden scaffolding/platforms. Just fall down onto them. You'll see the column on your right and in front of you.
Devil's Peak
Hardcore Challenge - Fastplant the four giant boulders
All the boulders are around the upper rim area. Just ride around and you should find them all.
Hardcore Challenge - Pull a 1080 anywhere
The best place to do this is in the smooth bowl, opposite the dino rib bone halfpipe. You have to get up there to do a 1080. Over 50 ft. or you won't stand a chance.
Hardcore Challenge - Jump to the top of the mushroom pillar
The problem with this one is that you have to land directly in the center of the mushroom column. The mushroom column is the huge, stand-alone pillar that you can see if you ride right a little from the start. Anyway, you won't get the challenge is you hit it on the side. Right in the middle. And, don't worry, you don't have to stop on top of it, just land squarely on it.
Airport Garage
We didn't have too many problems with doing these, other than they each took about 3,000 tries.
