If you got to this page via the Xbox or GameCube "Enter the Matrix" page, and you're worried because you're suddenly on a PlayStation 2 page, don't be.
The game is virtually identical in gameplay on all three platforms. This walkthough for the PS2 version of the game will get you through the other versions of the game, too. Even
the cheats are the same.
All controls for this game can be found in the in-game "pause" menu. Simply choose "Controls" to see your set-up. If you want to
change the controls, you'll have to back out of the game to the Select Screen. Enter the "Options" menu to change them.
If you are given a tip in-game and miss it, don't worry. Go to your pause menu and choose "tips". Tips you haven't read yet will be bolded.
Remember your "Focus". Using your focus will get you out of many a tough situation. You fight harder, dodge bullets easier, and jump farther. Good times, that "focus".
Upon loading a new game, you will get a cut scene from the movie. After the cut scene, you are asked to select a
character. You are to choose between Ghost and Niobe. Having played through the game as both characters, I can see very few differences
between them attribute-wise. Perhaps Niobe seemed a little more agile and fast, but not enough to make any sort of difference.
The two characters have different games. There are some missions which are exactly the same between the two games, but there
are many more
where you are playing in the same setting, but your duties and, therefore areas explored, are completely different. Also, when it comes to
driving missions, you'll be the driver if you play as Niobe, the shooter if you play as Ghost.
This walkthrough is based on going through the game at the "Normal" difficulty level. We found the greatest difference between the
difficulty levels to be the aggressiveness and the strength of the enemies. There is also a difference in how often the "direction" arrow is
given between difficulty levels. On "Easy", you pretty much have the arrow throughout the entire game. On "Normal", you're guided some, but not horribly often.
On "Hard", it's rare to get an arrow telling you where to go. We play games like this on "Normal" as we feel if you're playing it on "Hard", you don't need
us to tell you where to go.
