Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a wonderful third person action adventure game. The graphics are amazing
and smooth, the game play is excellent, and the soundtrack is like a great Cirque-du-Soleil soundtrack...beautiful
but driving, mellow yet frenetic. This is mainly a puzzle solving game: you have to figure out how to get from here to there using a series of runs, jumps, wall runs, and other
acrobatic moves. There is also an element of fighting but it's just the right amount. The environments
in which you do your puzzle solving and fighting are grand and detailed. Such places include inside and outside
a magnificent Persian Castle with courtyards and fountains and bedrooms and prisons. One unique element to this game
is the ability to reverse time. If you die while trying to make a jump, for example, you just rewind and try
again. Very useful. The storyline is also rather engrossing if you care about that sort of thing.
The only drawback is that it is a little bit too short and some of the game play does become a tad repetitive.
However, truly a great game. Perfect for a long weekend.
